    Power Supply Issue


    I'm so angry.

    Console less than 6 weeks old that was purchased from Littlewoods (UK).

    10 hours of use (MAX) and when tried to load a game the console just powered off. Eventually the console just turned itself off when powered on.

    Was asked to send console back to Frankfurt; Germany - WITHOUT accessories. I wanted to send it all back because I don't know what part was wrong - and neither should Microsoft 'assume'?

    Received XBOX ONE back today and guess what? Console not working. Have been told it's the power supply when ringing Microsoft Xbox Support. Great.

    Now again got to send the power supply back to Germany in the hope this now resolves the issue. But I'm worried.

    Firstly, the warranty. It now looks like I've only been given 30 days as my console has already been sent to germanys repair centre.? However, it was only purchased in November.

    Nowhere on Microsofts website did it say my warranty would be reduced? Of course I might just be speculating but when I got the console back today - I obviously went straight on to Microsoft support to raise ANOTHER repair/replacement request. They wanted
    £30 GBP for a new one to be sent out? But what about my warranty? Hmm...

    I ended up ringing them in the end and the support agent sent me a UPS packing slip via email to return my old one (normal procedure); but the website says otherwise. I'm baffled.

    I've been with Xbox years. Given the age of how new the console I purchased was; why didn't they just send a straight replacement out? Or a FREE upgrade to the One S would've been better! Why? Because it's designed different (power supply inside unit) so
    there must be a reson for this new design? I'm just not confident the new power supply will last.

    Has anybody else had power supply issues with the Xbox One?

    My console arrived back reset (apparently). I don't know for sure as it keeps turning off! But the sheer hassle of 2 returns, now I have to download all my games/settings again - and the service repair centre didn't even admit to being anything wrong with
    the console (standard letter I guess); so why reset it?

    Before I keep waffling on anymore... I'm just disappointed in the support/help. And don't start me on the online chat support. The lady was so unhelpful I asked her for a trans script of our conversation to complain. She replied 'why'? Then cut me off.

    I must've spent £3500 on Xbox since it's first launch. Fuming

    Just try to locate one meant for Germany I guess.

    So, I moved to germany from the US. I bought a 220 to 110 voltage converter that could support like 1500 watts or close to it. I plugged in the converter to the socket then the power supply in seconds I heard a buzz from the power supply. Before I could
    remove power cord a puff of smoke shot out of my power supply. Did the power supply just fry it self? If it did did was the converter faulty?

    Sounds like the power supply is burnt out and may need to be replaced.

    No. Don't even attempt using the Xbox 360 PSU on your Xbox One. The use of any accessory other than the standard Xbox One PSU may damage your console and void your console warranty.

    You can contact Xbox Support to ask for a replacement PSU or you can process one by yourself through this website:

    Power supply issue

    PSUs of both consoles are unique and are designed to be used only with the type of console they came with. Don't try to use a 360 PSU with a Xbox One console or you will damage it.

    Just wait until you got the proper PSU for Xbox One. It's better to exercise a little patience now than to put your console out of commission.

    Hi,

    If you've already tried everything on this guide here as well as unplugged the power supply and left it off for about 15 minutes, and tried
    to use another power outlet then that would mean it's time to get your power supply replaced. You can do so by either
    contacting phone support directly, or by visiting the
    Microsoft Repair site here (you'd select Start Request > Order Items Now > Select Power Supply from the drop down).
