Power Supply Issue

I just moved from the US to UK with my US Xbox one. I know there is a difference in voltage, so instead of buying an adapter, is it possible to buy a power supply from here? Will a uk power supply work on a us console?

Power supply issue.

So, I moved to germany from the US. I bought a 220 to 110 voltage converter that could support like 1500 watts or close to it. I plugged in the converter to the socket then the power supply in seconds I heard a buzz from the power supply. Before I could
remove power cord a puff of smoke shot out of my power supply. Did the power supply just fry it self? If it did did was the converter faulty?

If you are playing in a different country than where you purchased your console, you will want to purchase a new Power Supply as the voltages are different country to country and using a PSU not rated for your country can cause big problems. US is 100-127V
while EU is 200-240V. Both are 12A * 17.9V = 215W.

You can get in contact with the Xbox Support Team using the link below to inquire about purchasing a power supply unit. That would be the only hardware you need when setting up in your new locale.

The games for Xbox One are region free so no problems there, hope you enjoy the UK as that's where I am.

No. Don't even attempt using the Xbox 360 PSU on your Xbox One. The use of any accessory other than the standard Xbox One PSU may damage your console and void your console warranty.

You can contact Xbox Support to ask for a replacement PSU or you can process one by yourself through this website:

PSUs of both consoles are unique and are designed to be used only with the type of console they came with. Don't try to use a 360 PSU with a Xbox One console or you will damage it.

Just wait until you got the proper PSU for Xbox One. It's better to exercise a little patience now than to put your console out of commission.

If you've already tried everything on this guide here as well as unplugged the power supply and left it off for about 15 minutes, and tried
to use another power outlet then that would mean it's time to get your power supply replaced. You can do so by either
contacting phone support directly, or by visiting the
Microsoft Repair site here (you'd select Start Request > Order Items Now > Select Power Supply from the drop down).
