power supply for xbox 360 with a 175w connection plug

I am trying to buy a power supply for my xbox360 (175w plug connection) and apparently one is not available from anywhere, including the manufacturer of the product. I have purchased 2 from other sources and the plug is not compatible with my unit.
It is terrible that microsoft chose to put out a new system and not make it backwards compatible with ALL games AND stopped supporting the old system by not offering replacement power supplies. So now I have 10+ games I cannot play.

:)

Not sure why you couldnt find it. I just googles 'xbox 360 175 watt power supply' and got dozens of results of genuine xbox 360 175 watt power supplies from ebay and amazon. Took about 5 seconds.

Also Microsoft stopped supporting the older models well because they are old.

Can a xbox using 150w power supply use a 175w power supply?

Original 360 console power supplies are forward compatible. 203w, 175w, and 150w power supplies can be used with 150w consoles.

Confusion with power bricks.
Well either way he would still have to get the correct year and wattage because all Xbox boards have different plug in ports.
That's why I said power supplies are forward compatible. The original 203w supply will plug into
a 150w Jasper.

Note that they are not backwards compatible. A 175w Falcon supply will not physically plug into a 203w Xenon console.

Microsoft seems to have done away with this for the 360 S as Trinity and Corona plugs appear to be identical. A 120w Corona brick plugs into a Trinity console.
A 2006 203w power supply wont plug into a 2009 Xbox 360 for safety reasons and to protect
the consoles from insufficent power
An original 2005 power brick will plug into any original 360 model. Again, forward compatible.

How can I tell if my console is a zephyr or falcon or etc......

There are a few ways to tell. First is manufacture date. Second is wattage of the power supply. Third is the system amperage.

Here is how it breaks down.

Xenon:

• Manufactured between 2005 -2006
• 203W power supply.
• 16.5A
Zephyr:

• Manufactured between 2006 - July 2007
• 203W power supply.
• 16.5A
• Added a HDMI port (only for the premium, not the Arcade console)
Opus:

• Manufactured between July 2007 - September 2007
• 175W power supply.
• 14.2A
Falcon:

• Manufactured between August 24th 2007 - October 2008
• 175W power supply.
• 14.2A
Jasper:

• Manufactured between October 18th 2008 - the Xbox 360 redesign
• 150W power supply.
• 12.1A

My xbox is failing to turn on

Problems with your Xbox 360 console can sometimes be solved by making sure your power supply connections are firmly connected. Try these steps in the following order:

1. Turn off the console.
2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console.
3. Unplug the power supply from the electrical outlet, and then unplug the short cord from the power supply.
4. Plug the power cord back into the console, then plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and the power supply.
5. Make sure that all three power supply connections are firm.
6. Turn on the console, and check the light on the power supply.

Also remember that

• The power brick like the xbox itself needs to remain in an open space, and clutter free
• tampering with the Xbox can void the warranty as well as lead to banning.
