Power supply dies when I turn on console

The other day my xbox turned on just fine. Went to start it up today and it made a noise like it was going to start and nothing happened. Looked at the power supply and the light was off. Did the supply reset and the light came back on but did the same
thing again when I pushed the power button.

Lately I've been having an issue with the power supply on my Xbox One. I have the console's power/startup mode set to Instant-on. I've never had a problem with the power supply, but as of the last 24 hours or so. When the console is turned off the power
supply's indicator light stays white like it usually does when set to Instant-on, but only for about half a minute before the light goes dim and the power supply shuts down. While troubleshooting the issue, rebooting the power supply seems to fix the problem
for a time, but it eventually starts acting up again. I know some official posts say not to plug it into a surge protector, but I've had mine plugged into one since I got it 2 years ago and it hasn't been a problem before. Couldn't really find any posts with
problems similar to this so I figured I'd make one and hope for the best.

my power supply died about a couple weeks ago and I got a new power supply but the xbox will not turn on the "fault alarm" on the supply is on, what do I do

If you have already tried plugging in to a different outlet/surge protector, the power supply unit will need to be replaced. Unfortunately, we no longer offer replacements through our site so you would have to purchase a new power supply from a third party.

 

I figured it out. Had nothing to do with the power supply at all. Did some more research and found that moving around a hairdryer on hot and blowing out the xbox for about 5 mins worked for a lot of people. Surprisingly it did actually work and it turned
right on after letting it cool down

I'm glad you were able to get it working again. You should definitely be careful before trying things that could potentially harm the console. It may have worked this time somehow but the console already creates heat so blowing a hot hair dryer on it could
cause over heating or permanent irreparable damage to the internal components. Just a heads up. Thanks for reaching out!
