    Power Outage causes "Xbox On" voice command to not work.


    I just got an Xbox one s specifically for the voice control abilities. It works great and listens to my commands. However, recently the power in my house went out and when it came back on the "Xbox on" command would not work. I manually turned the console
    on and found the voice commands were working. So I turned it off with my voice and tried "Xbox on" again. Again it would not turn on. So again turned it on manually and voice commands were working. I reset the Xbox and went through setup again and "Xbox on"
    was working again. So everything has been fine until the power went out again today. Same thing happened. All voice commands work except "Xbox on." I will go through the reset again but has anyone had this problem and know a way to fix it from happening again?

    Cortina does not work in Canada yet. So no command via voice turns the unit off. Xbox on still works but it will no longer shuts the box down. Have to use controller or power on unit. Defeats the voice command and the kinesthetic not 100% working.
    Microsoft please get Canada in the region for Cortana sooner than later.

    Voice Command for turning on Xbox One isn't working

    Hi, sometimes a power cycle can fix this, with the xbox powered on press and hold the power button on the xbox for 10 seconds and the xbox will power off, power on again using the power button on the xbox as the voice commands will not work the first time
    you power up.

    Power the xbox off again and try the Xbox On command again.

    Just tried it on my own console and it seems to be working 100%. There's a number of factors that can affect voice command accuracy, with background noise being the biggest cause.

    If you haven't already, try running through the
    voice command troubleshooter    .
