    My Xbox 1 x has sat for several months. I turned it on 2 days ago. It needed an update and I updated it. Today I try to turn it on no controller is paired with device. So I power on with button on console. It comes on for 5-10 seconds goes back off. Never even shows display on TV of it starting or anything?

    i suggest you to power off the console manually by holding the xbox button for 5-10 sec and then wait for 30 sec and turn on the console. This should fix it :)

    Try following steps:

    1. Switch off ur router

    2. Switch off the Xbox by holding the power button for about 10 sec.

    3. Disconnect the Xbox from power source.

    4. Wait 10 minutes.

    5. Restart the router and wait until it is totally rebooted.

    6. Start Xbox.

    I power cycled my xbox (hold power button 10 secs to turn off and then replug power cable in rear)

    and it worked after that.
