power on issues with Xbox One...

Three issues that seem to affect my Xbox One

    1. Voice command to turn on Xbox w/ Kinect - NEVER WORKS! It did when I first got it, but not anymore.

    2. A good percentage of the time, I can't turn on the xbox remotely with the controller. Even when trying with multiple controllers. Basically its hit or miss.. I'd say most of the time it works. maybe 1/3 of the time it doesn't and I have to get up and
physically turn it on. VERY ANNOYING!

    3. I have the Xbox One power setting to go to standby when turned off. However, 50% of the time when I go to turn on my Xbox, it does a cold reboot. There was no power loss, so that's not the issue. It's as if the Xbox One forgets to go into Standby,
or after being in Standby for a period of time it just decides to shut off.

These are all very annoying issues. The first one I've come to live with as long as I can turn it on via the controller, its no big deal. I've seen other posts with others having very similar issues. What's the deal? Is my Xbox One bad? Is this just
a known bug that needs a system update? What should I do? I heard that a hard reset might work.. but man that would suck to have to reload everything.

    Any other ideas?

    :)

Xbox one power up issues with instant on?

I am having a similar issue, although I do not have kinect.

My console and controllers (same problem with both controllers) were working fine even after the update as far as powering on and off everything meaning controllers and console....but since I updated my controllers with the controller firmware update the
console needs to be turned on manually or with my harmony remote...the controller then needs to be turned on and everything works--when powering down- the console will power down but the controller will not turn off when the console is powered down and off.
I have to manually turn off the controller when the console is off by holding the controller button for about 5 seconds....it all works- but it would be nice if when the console powered down the controller turned off as well. I am going to use that techs
suggestion you mentioned and put the xb1 in power saving mode (if I can figure out how to do this) and see if that works-

I am brand new to XB1 (a couple of months) and I have to say it really is a great console- just hope I can get the controller /console sync powering issue fixed!

power on issues with Xbox One...

I have been having the same issues for a few weeks now. Is this a symptom of a growing problem that I should be worried about?

Hi player. A hard reset wouldn't mean you lose everything. It basically forces the console to perform a power cycle, this doesn't format your hard drive in any way. To perform a hard reset whilst on your home screen press and hold the power button on your
console for 15 seconds (even once the console has turned off keep the button pressed) Once done leave your console off for a few minutes and then turn it back on. Once it's turned back on go to settings and make sure your settings are set to how you would
    like them.

    Hope that helps.

    Xbox One power issue

The Xbox One drive is like the Xbox 360 disc drive cryptographically "married" to the mainboard of the console. So you can't simply swap out a drive and expect it to work. The software on the drive has to match the encryption of the mainboard.

Thank you for taking the time time to reply to this thread, Reese.

At this point, you would need to test this power supply unit on a different console. If you can reproduce the same results, then this would mean that you power supply unit is what is failing, and you would need to replace it.

However if this power supply unit works on another console of the same model, then you console would be the root of the problem.

Keep in mind that the original Xbox One console is no longer manufactured by Microsoft, nor is the console PSU. As a result, out-of-warranty support is no longer available for this particular product.

This would indicate that the only other option that we would be able to recommend to you on the Xbox Forums, would have to be to upgrade to a new Xbox One of the S or X models.

I'm sorry about any confusion or turmoil this might have caused.

    Xbox One Power Issue

I have the original Xbox One, and it loses power when I plug the chord into the xbox, as soon as I do that I hear a tick and the orange light from the power chord turns off.

What is the voltage rating on the PSU, if its 100 - 110v then you have probably blew the PSU, thats why it will be blowing your mains house fuse. A plug adapter is not the only thing you would need for a PSU with those voltage ratings, you would also have
needed a step down transformer to convert 240v UK to 110v US.

Since is a electronic device, and the liquid entered to inside, probably something damaged inside, like CPU or motherboard or disc. You should look for a repair. (The warranty (if you have it) will not cover for this.

You can ask where for a repair at Microsoft
