    Prob a stupid question......

    Once turning off my xbox one, is it fully off or should I unplug the brick to be fully off?

    I want to cover the console when not in use as a dust cover but want to make sure it is fully off so I don't make it over heat.

    no its actually a common issue, nothing to worry about. all it is is the signal transferring as the console turns off.

    Well I'm still sporting a SDTV with standard A/V cables, does that mean the cables need to be replaced?

    Firstly unless you are planning to not use it for a long period of time, unplugging and plugging it back in is not a good idea for any device. Secondly from my experience the XBOX ONE doesn't get hot, it gets slightly warm. but never hot where I think it
    may over heat. The XBOX 360 got much, much hotter. The XBOX goes to standby mode meaning you can say "XBOX ON" (if you have the Kinect with it). There is a setting where you can turn it completely off (located in power settings). But I suggest leaving it as
    it is because I am 95% sure it can run updates while in standby mode.

    And there are no stupid questions in my book.

    Thanks for the info. I am glad one seems to run cooler than 360, pretty much why I was wondering.

    Stand-by mode or just off should work just fine for being covered then.

    my XB1 has been on and by on I mean white light and all since the day after it was released... maybe a total of 40 hours it has been off where no power is there. it will not overheat.. ever

    Just make sure some air will be able to flow through when you cover it, covering something completely could cause it to get hotter then normal.

    Mine has been left on in standby mode since launch day , hardly gets warm. I only do a a complete shut down after major updates or to try to resolve any bugs I might come across

    Hey xRaRx KAoTiK! Let us know how wiping off the power and eject buttons with a dry cloth to remove any oils or dirt that has accumulated. You can also try re-positioning your console!
