Power Cord Issues

Since I accidentally blew up my original power cord (not by fault of Microsoft, just don't plug a 120V cord into a 240V socket, it literally puffed out smoke) I've had some "fun" trying to find a new power cord. Since Microsoft doesn't sell the power cord
yet, I've had to do some hunting. I managed to get a good, but really loud, one that lasted about six months. For some reason, that one died, and it's been a competition to see which suppliers' cord will last the longest.

With the first cord, I was able to watch a tv show on Netflix, leave it overnight, and as soon as I tried to turn it on the next morning everything cut out. The cord after that literally lasted two hours before frying and not even turning on again. The cord
after that wouldn't turn on the xbox the whole way after five minutes of use.

I'm on my seventh cord right now, and I'm running out of different suppliers and patience. I'm not willing to pay the $63 for Gamestop's just yet, but does anyone know where I can get, at least, an okay quality cord so I don't have to keep wasting my money
on postage to have them sent to me?

Because the power supply is inside the console the cable is just a standard power cable so it is absolutely fine to use with whatever piece of electronics you have.

Not wanting to do it is just as nonsensical and paranoid as not wanting to use the USB cable you got with your Samsung phone with your Sony one. There's nothing proprietary about them.

You can still get a powercord from Microsoft! If you have had it for less than a year they may be able to set something up for free since you get a year warranty (on the box). If not I am sure they have something set up like the 360 and you can order a powersupply
from them directly. Best to call support. Hope you get one!

Hey mate,

I agree with sephiroth, your best bet would be trying through MS by callign the support line. The only other way I know of would be through someone like gamestop, or failing that you could try ebay.... although I'd really not reccomend that, as you have
no idea what you are really getting, and it could end up messing with the actual console.

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for clarity on getting a new power cord. You should be able to purchase this accessory through any certified reseller of Xbox products including gaming stores and the like but you might want to check on their site. The
Xbox One X and S have the same kind of power supply so if you find one of those you should be good.

I think if it is the same pkug and it pass the same amount of electricity you are set, I never tried that so do it at your own risk.

I would recommend you try GameStop/EB Games/Planet X (or check GameStop.com to before you head to your local store) or look for one at Amazon.com.
