Power button does not click on Xbox One

The first thing I would do would be to leave it alone for awhile and then return and see if it does the same thing when you try and power back on again.

They seemed to have possibly found a solution. It seems like you most likely have to send it out to be repaired. Hopefully you can handle that lol.

One more thing. You said it's making a clicking sound. Could you describe that a little more? Do you mean the chime when you push the power button or is it some sort of internal clicking?

Try to power cycle your console by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds. But NOT WHILE it is flashing.

Mine usually doesn't restart when I click the on-screen restart button either, though it does ping to confirm the first click. I have to hold the power button to force a power-off or pull the power before the console will actually reboot.

The power button is not broken, my Xbox controller doesn't turn it on, but the cords look fine. Holding the power button does nothing, and holding sync and power button does nothing.

Can you try performing a power cycle on your Xbox?

To do this:

For Series X|S

- Open Settings on Xbox.

- Select the General tab.

- Click on Power Options.

- Under the “Options” section, click the “Shutdown now” option.

- Click the “Shut down” button.

For Xbox One

Go to the Home screen.

Press the Menu button on the controller.

Select Settings.

Go to Sleep Mode & Start-Up

Select Turn Off/ Full Shut Down.

Once done, power up the console and see if the issue continues.
