  1. Power button beeps, light up, turns off. Help?

We've been having a problem with our Xbox One S the past few days. When pressing the power button, it will beep but turn right off. I've read some posts that said to try:

Power Cycle (hold button for 10 (or 20) secs

    Push Eject button a lot

Power reset (unplug for 10 secs)

    Check HDMI connection

    What I tried:

All of the above. I tried the cycle by holding button for 10 secs. (Then, when it didn't work, 20 secs. Still didn't work)

Tried pressing the eject button (there is no disk in there). Sometime a beep comes from the drive, sometimes from the power section.

Power reset: unplugged for 10 secs, 20 secs, 30 secs, 4 hours. Nothing helped. HDMI connection is fine.

Console is less than a year old, and doesn't get used much--probably less than 250 hours of total use.

I haven't seen any solutions explicitly for the One S. All seem to address the base One because they mention the power brick. The S does not have a brick.

Disclaimer: I did get it to turn on twice in the past couple days doing some combination of the above, but do not remember exactly what I did. Most likely, a combination of Eject and Power Cycle.

Any thoughts? It's a shame that this could happen to a nearly new console.

Would the good folks at a Microsoft store be of any help?

    :)

  2. XBOX ONE Will Not Start

When I try to turn on the XBOX ONE using the power button, the system beeps then does nothing. The Power button does not light up, the power cord's light remains orange and my TV states that there is no signal. Everything is plugged in correctly. I tried
using several different HDMI cords but it still didn't work. Any help will be appreciated.

Xbox One S is showing only black and white output, no colour!

Hello SBN_1030! I'm Kris and I'd be happy to help you with your question.

Sorry to hear you are only getting back and white output.

Have you tried booting the console into low res mode to see if that gives you any colour?

On the console, press and hold the Power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds to turn off the console.

Press and hold the Power button and the pair button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You'll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. Don’t let go until you hear the second beep or see the console start-up in low resolution mode (the Xbox start-up screen will appear slightly pixelated).

I changed my video settings around and I now can’t see my screen

Hello Steve E! I'm Kris and I'd be happy to help you with your question.

I would suggest putting the console into Low Res Mode so you can change the video settings.

On the console, press and hold the Power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds to turn off the console.

Press and hold the Power button and the pair button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You’ll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. Don’t let go until you hear the second beep or see the console start up in low resolution mode (the Xbox startup screen will appear slightly pixelated).

Xbox One won’t connect to Samsung Freestyle projector

Got it, have you tried resetting the console's display settings? See the following steps:

If there's a disc in the console, eject it.

On the console, press and hold the Power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds to turn off the console.

Press and hold the Power button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You'll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep.

Don’t let go until you hear the second beep or see the console start-up in low-resolution mode (the Xbox start-up screen will appear slightly pixelated).

Let me know if this works.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

    Xbox series X

Hello BbyRudeGyal! I'm Kris and I'd be happy to help you with your question.

Sorry to hear you having issues with connecting the console to the TV. Have you tried forcing the console into low res mode to see if you get an image. You can do this by the following:

If there's a disc in the console, eject it.

On the console, press and hold the Power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds to turn off the console.

Press and hold the Power button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You'll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. Don’t let go until you hear the second beep or see the console start-up in low resolution mode (the Xbox start-up screen will appear slightly pixelated).

    Monitor keeps going black

One thing you could try is putting the console into low res mode and see if it happens then. You can do this by doing the following, starting with the console powered fully off.
