power brick

Anyone else notice how hot the powe brick gets? Almost so hot it makes me nervous.

when I went to use my Xbox this morning it's turning on then off within seconds I unplugged everything when I plug the power brick into the wall it goes orange when I plug it into the Xbox it goes white then cycles through white and orange then stays orange
when I try and start the Xbox while it's orange it switches to white the brick makes a weird humming noise then the Xbox dies out but it make sure the shut down noise as if im pressing the button it's as if the Xbox is telling its self to turn on and off every few
seconds

 

Just be glad it is external..... and then people wonder why it is...

 

Mine, doesn't get all that hot. Florida heat, AC on. Seems fine to me.

 

Mine doesn't get that hot...maybe you are right to be nervous. Have it checked out or something, wouldn't want to risk a fire.

 

Mine gets kinda warm but the fan runs all the time is that normal?

 

Mine gets warm but nothing unusual. When I unplug it from the wall the orange light stays on for about a minute which is weird.

 

Mine is barely warm after a few hours of playing. Sounds like your fans on the power brick might not be functioning? Can you hear the fans?

That's the power of capacitors for you, nothing to worry about.

 

I actually noticed it after I took the power star golf update and my one was being kinda flakey. Thought I would just do a full reboot and holy crap my one was smoking hot and the power brick. The power brick is still hot and I don't hear a fan just crackling
sounds

 

From that description, I would leave the console unplugged from the wall and contact Support.

 

Ill never understand people who put their systems in a small cabinet under their TV. It is bad for the system and somewhat insulting to the developers.

 

Better the brick than the console.

 

My Xbox or brick never gets hot my kinect does though
