Power brick too loud for my taste?

I know this has been discussed a few times already, but the noise the power brick makes, drives me insane. It seems too loud. I can hear it in the next room, when the console is in instant on mode, and even when the console itself is on, the fan noise of
the power brick is louder than the xbox one itself. Even my PS4 is quiter. That can't be right, or is it? What can I do? Thanks for any input!

Xbox 360 Disc Unreadable Problems/Dying Disc Drive

I've been experiencing that disc unreadable thing and my S is only a couple months old. Also, all new games even though installed are spinning like crazy and making loud noises. The power brick is extremely loud too lol. I'm still under warranty but man,
10x louder than my original Pro.

 

Where can i get an Official, Legit, Xbox 360 Slim Power Brick?

The first Power brick i had that came with my 360 started to mess up after a while. The Power Brick started making a loud unpleasant noise. Not too long ago, i bought a new compatible power brick online from Ebay. The new Power Brick i bought works...but
it's a little "louder" than it should be and it sounds like a miniature Vacuum cleaner.



Where would i be able to buy a official power brick that's just quiet and normal and is the real thing? Will i have to make a call somewhere and arrange it, or is there a website somewhere i can order from?

Honestly even after using mine for days without turning it off a combination of gaming,and Blu rays and cable TV use it's always been whisper quiet? And no where near as loud as my PS4 for certain...makes me think yours has an issue.

 

Thanks for the feedback! I would have to contact ms support then and ask for an exchange of the power brick. Do they do that? Or do I have to send in my console? I'll call the support on Monday and ask, as there doesn't seem to be e-mail support.

Honestly since iv'e never had to send mine out unsure if they will send a new brick or entire new machine....i'd assume just a brick to save themselves money and time?

I got one a year ago for the same reason: It was far too noisy.

 

It seems that Microsoft's accessory return policy has changed!

I've just put through my own PSU replacement order, as I'm fed up with the noise from my replacement PSU, and instead of telling me I have to ship it to Prague at my own expense, I have instead been emailed a link for a pre-paid UPS Returns label for shipping
it to Germany

 

That's exactly what I did, or had to do. But i'd rather wait a few days. I just hope the replacement unit will really be silent, or at least not that noisy.

 

My PSU was picked up by UPS on Monday 12 January, and I received an email on Thursday 15 January saying that my "replacement Xbox accessory" had left the service centre.

 

I just got my replacement power brick back and it is absolutely silent! Glad i exchanged it. Instant on is now really something i would use. I'm a happy gamer now. The process went very smooth, i'm impressed by the customer service!

 

Hope it is just a bad power supply unit. Had mine over a year, can't ever hear it. That and the system are so quiet.

 

I had a terrible experience with Xbox Support when replacing my power supply. It took nearly a month to get it back and I had to pay for shipping. Every time I talked to a CSR I would get a different answer about how long it should take. The first CSR said
it would be 2 weeks max. Also, they shipped it to the wrong address and they even knew it was the wrong address weeks before they shipped it since I caught their error while finding out what was taking them so long to ship it back. The replacement works well
so far though, so that's good.

 

You must've just been unlucky, I've had to use the support on 3 seperate occasions and found that I had replacements with me no later than 10 days from despatch to delivery.
