power brick possibly??

I have an xbox 360 e. All was working great on my xbox when i left to go to work today. I come home 10 hours later, looking forward to watching some netflix and passing out. Go to turn on the xbox, nothing. Then i notice an odd humming noise. I check it
out, ends up being the power supply, its hooked up, no light. I break the power cord down into the wall plug and the power brick. i also disconnected the brick from the back of the 360, start blowing into the power brick. I then plugged the wall plug in, followed
by plugging in the power brick. The light came on, and the buzzing stopped. I was pretty thrilled needless to say. Then i go to plug it into the back of the xbox, and bam. The power brick light shuts back off and the humming comes back immediately after the
power brick cord is seated into the back of the xbox.. What could this possibly be. I dont want to send out my power brick and not have another one for a week if i dont have too. any help would be appreciated. I've tried other outlets, compressed air, everything
ive thought of just shy of taking it apart.

Neither my one or my power brick are in a small cabinet. Why would you assume that is my problem.

How old is the console? Perhaps the brick is just dying and needs to be replaced. The brick would only be covered for 90 days from purchase.

You can order a new brick from the repair website.

If your old brick still works try a hard rest of your console before plugging in the new power brick. If not try the power brick on another console if possible.

*UPDATE* I'm not sure if it was because of the update or not but the root cause was my power brick. Either the update affected my power brick (which I don't know if it's even possible) or the power brick was faulty and just happened to
have issues during the update. I took it to Gamestop and they plugged up a different power brick and it booted up fine. The old power brick always stays orange. If you have this issue, check the power brick.

It is possible that the power brick is damaged, but try this:

1. Unplug the brick from its power supply from the wall.

2. Unplug the brick from the console.

3. Push the power button on the console about 3-4 times to pull everything from the system.

Hopefully by doing that, it will reset the brick.
