    Power brick overheating

I've had my 360 elite for over a year. Recently I downloaded the free gold version of Halo Reach. Every time the game is played, the power brick overheats and has a red light after 30 minutes of play. So far it only happens when Halo Reach is played. Is
it just because of the game, or is something wrong with the power brick? I have kept the duat cleaned out of it and done any other suggestion I can find to fix it, but it still happens. I don't know what to do other than replace the power brick, but don't
want to do that if its just the free game causing it. What should I do?

    :)

    Red light help!!

    It's overheating:

    1. Unplug from power source then clean all power connections on brick and box. Loose connections cause overheating.

    2. While unplugged, use compressed air to blow through air vents on the brick.

    3. Before reinstalling, place brick on flat, hard surface with air vents up. Resting on carpet can help overheating.

    4. If problem persists after that, you need your brick repaired or a new brick.

    Hope it helps

Why is the reason for the Xbox One power BRICK?

I see people talking about it helping heat issues, but the Xbox 360 was infamous because it overheated, even with a power brick and the PS3 didn't overheat to death as much without a power brick.

    Mmm...

    Power brick overheating

What are the other games that you play that does not overheat.

The Red Light Usually means your xbox A/V Cable is not Plugged in Properly or Your Xbox needs a Repair, Is it a white Console Or Black One.

If your console has 4 Red lights go here forums.xbox.com/.../1822048.aspx

If your Console has 1,2 or 3 Red lights Go here forums.xbox.com/.../1822045.aspx

It is a black one. The red light is on the power brick, or the block connected to the ac adaptor/plug. Other games played would be Left 4 Dead, Darksider 2, Dead Island, and Hitman. Those are the most played. I've never had this problem until I downloaded
Halo Reach, which is why I wonder if it is just that game causing it to overheat.

There are a few things you can try..

Unplug your Xbox 360 Console from the Power Slot for 5 Minutes then Plug it back in and try again.

Clear your system Cache... Dashboard>Settings>Storage>Select Y on your main Storage device>Clear System Cache at least Twice.

Delete and Redownload Halo Reach. Don`t worry about having to pay to redownload it. Once you download it its free to download Again, Now try Playing to game for a bit,

Maybe its a power issue? Turn the console off at the Power. Unplug everything from your console, Wait 30 Seconds and put it back in.

Try a different account. Try an Account that is NOT connected to Xbox Live and do what you were doing when it went Red.

  8. Power brick overheating

BlackKatt91, it is a power supply so it is going to get hot, but if it gets way to hot you will need to get a new one. If you are under warranty then have Microsoft get you a new one. If you are not then you will need to buy a new one... Sorry

My Xbox 360 power brick ONLY overheats with 1 game, "Watch Dogs" and I DO NOT get RRoD. I can play my entire library of games (hard copy & DLC's) with NO PROBLEM but if I play "Watch Dogs" for longer than 30 minutes it shuts my whole system down. One time
it was so bad i had to put my power brick in the freezer to cool it off. Any thoughts?

Xbox One S randomly Shuts Off While Gaming

My initial impression is an overheating issue, but you may also be experiencing an overheating or even bad power brick. Is the power brick hot to the touch?
