    Power brick issues.

Hi. So, I was playing Far Cry 4 today from 12 till 5, the game crashed which in turn; turned off my Xbox One, I looked and noticed the Power Brick was orange (no flicking on and off) and solid orange instead of the usual white. So, I unplugged the brick
from both my Xbox One and my surge protectors broads (yes, I'm aware that it is better to use an outlet, but I simply don't have enough room for all that) - I waited about 10 - 30 seconds and then I plugged it all back up, the brick flickered from white
to orange, and repeated this process for about two more times and finally went back to the solid orange.

I have no idea what I'm supposed to do, I've Googled it, and nothing about my issue has come up. Unless anyone has any ideas, it would be a great help. Don't really want to get the brick replaced.

    :)

Yeh, it was one from eBay. I don't have the link anymore, sorry :/ I just went on eBay and searched for "Xbox One 220v Power Brick" when I looked though. Honestly I haven't had any more issues, I think it was because I didn't have it in energy saver mode,
and so it was basically on non-stop for about 24 hours. I also left it on while it installed some games. But I played through the second half of CoD: Ghosts and a little ways into Ryse, so I'd say it was about 12 hours of actual play time, plus the 12 hours
it had been on in "standby" mode or whatever.

    Power brick issues.

    Hey Nafan!

Sorry you're having issues with your power supply. Seems like an odd issue indeed as it's not flashing. Is there any way you could test with another Xbox (either your power supply or someone else's)? Also like you said for testing make sure you're plugged
directly in the outlet. Also reseat all the connections on your Xbox. Finally maybe test with all accessories unplugged, like the Kinect and anything else. If all that doesn't work, and you can't test with anything either your power supply or xbox may need
    servicing.

Hope this helps! Let us know if any of these steps fix your problem!

    Hi Hydro Skillet!

So, I tried plugging the power supply into another outlet around the house, sadly it didn't work. Nor, do I have someone else in my area that has an Xbox One.

I brought the standalone Xbox One so I already don't have the Kinect connected. So, thank you for your help and suggestions. But I may as well just send for another power supply. Which I am in the process of doing now.

    Hey there :)

Sure you can! Your going to want to head on over to the service center (CLICK HERE) and register your product.

From there you should be able to select "replacement accessories" and your good to go!

    Hope this helps.

    Many thanks,

There are some proper Microsoft power bricks on eBay, but the prices are quite high as there's not currently any other way to buy one.

I agree with 989 though - the third party ones are to be avoided, as they're usually low quality and probably haven't gone through a lot of testing. Also, I believe that using one would void your console's warranty due to it being an unauthorised accessory.
MS will not take responsibility if a dodgy third party PSU fries your machine.

Same problem on my 360. A power surge wiped out the original brick, bought what I thought was a Microsoft brand replacement. It wasn't and now it overheats after 30ish minutes. Takes a couple of hours to cool down. Doesn't kill the power though. Says "reconnect
controller" and the center green light on the console goes out. (Not batteries)

I'd love to do that. Do you know where I can go to buy one?
