    Power Brick is melting


    Hey guys, i brought my Xbox one a while ago and i lost my original power brick so i bought another on amazon. After 2 months , i just started to notice my power has started to melt and dent inward. i don't know how to stop or fix this .please help

    Yah, but imagine the fail rates in the 360 if the power brick was inside. Didn't the lead-free solder melt and that's what lead to the RROD?

    I'm saying, it's even more reason for them to keep the external power brick with the One because they don't want to spend millions and millions of dollars again on warranty.

    The reason your Power Brick is making a humming noise, is because inside of the power brick. Is a little fan, this fan keeps your Power Brick at the correct temperature. If your power brick gets hot, the fans RPM will increase and it will make a humming
    sound because your XBOX Power Brick Fan is cooling down your Power Brick. Nothing to worry about unless it's a roaring sound.

    Is this a original branded microsoft product or a third party spare part? Because afaik there are no original microsoft xbox one power supplies available at amazon.

    i'm pretty sure it's a third party part because i just searched Xbox one power brick in amazon and just bought whatever seem closest to the original.

    To be honest, that's what I expected. So please have the item exchanged by amazom or the seller itself and please understand that these forums can not provide support on third party spare parts.

    If you want to avoid further problems, I'd suggest you phone the support team to get an original power supply from microsoft as they do not have that problems.

    Power cable/supply nearly caught fire...

    You can buy a replacement power supply from places such as Gamestop, however, your Xbox may be fried if it got hot enough to melt the power supply.

    Make sure you buy compatible power supply though. If you have a newer FAT 360, get the smaller power brick, but if it's over a year old, get the larger brick. The larger brick will work with any console, but the small brick will only work with Jasper motherboards
    (the newest "fat" 360s).

    If you have a slim, I'm guessing they have their own specific power supply.

    Does leaving the Xbox 360 on for more than 24 hours damage anything?

    it depends if your Xbox has a good cooler if it starts to over heat but the disc tray is not made to stay on for that long I recommend setting up rules with your brother

    And your power brick/power saving inside can melt if it doesn't have a working cooler of even have one

    So keep a eye on it
