    Power A Xbox controller won't turn on


    I bought this controller like 4 years ago to use on a gaming laptop which I sold 2 years ago so this controller has just been collecting dust for 2 years since I don't have an Xbox I have a PlayStation I tried to sell this controller and when I had a buyer he wanted to test it out see if it worked and it didn't it wouldn't turn on which is weird since this was only used like max 4 times since I bought it brand new in the 4 years I've owned it we triple checked the connection even switched it to a different port on the Xbox and still nothing it's not Bluetooth so plugging it into the wall isn't gonna do anything I just don't know what went wrong it's barely used it looks like it was just pulled out the box 5 minutes ago but it won't turn on

    Since the controller hasn't been used for quite some time, it's possible it has some kind of manufacturing defect or even an issue with the lifespan of certain components, even if it hasn't been used very much.

    You can try using a different USB cable and also try connecting it to other devices like a PC or smartphone to see if the behavior is the same. If the problem is the same, you should take it to a third-party technician in your area who can help you identify the problem and determine if there is a solution.

    Xbox one console not controlling TV since receiving it back from service.

    I have the same problem with the same TV. It will not control TV power either off or on. I also can't get my Xbox to turn on by saying Xbox On, either. But Xbox off works, just won't turn TV off.

    Try this..

    Turn off TV, AVR if using and console. Remove the power cable from the console and connect the controller to the console with a plug / play uSB charge cable.

    Restore the console power cable and turn on in this order...

    First the TV, then AVR if using and last of all the console.

    Let us know the result.

    I suggest you connect the usb cable of the controller to console first so it won't dsynchronize and then wait a while then disconnect the cable it should be fine, some times is the controller, if anything I also suggest to clear small issue with the console
    do a Power Cycle (turn off the xbox by holding the xbox button for 10 seconds the screen will turn automatically then turn it on by using the controller). That is all you have to do.
