    Potential Xbox One setup question


    First, hi all, my first post anywhere on the XB Forums! Here is my dilemma. I know you can hook up an external drive to the XB ONE for expansion (which with all the free games they release and my personal belief of going digital vs having a disc eats up
    a lot). I also want to install a home server (looking to start at 6TB) is there a way to connect the "server" to the xbox and partition off a set limit to be used as HD storage for the ONE it only and then the other partitioned portion be used for movies and
    such.

    Hopefully I am making sense with this and hopefully someone can help lead me in the right direction!!

    X1 is stuck on Moderate NAT

    This might be an obvious question, but have you setup port forwarding from your router for the Xbox One?

    You would just lose "One", the idea of assuming input one of the TV. I think it works pretty well and so I would at least give it a try before ignoring the pass through and setting it up like a 360.

    Potential Xbox One setup question

    Unfortunately it will not work. The drive needs to be connected via usb and it needs to be 3.0 , once it's plugged in the Xbox formats it to its own file format. If you want to share media use plex, the Xbox works with a dnla server.

    I am also looking to share/connect from HTPC to Xbox one, Currently I have tried everything, at the moment I have just used the external HDD to save my games to for the xbox one, but I think it would be great if microsoft enabled its users to lets say, if
    using an HTPC use a dedicated Internal HDD (If there is room for more than one HDD) that will be a dedicated Xbox one server.

    Then all it would need is Microsoft/Xbox to enable streaming to TV or create the Xbox one App for smart TV's.

    A Few Errors

    Try and reposition your Kinect senor according to the Xbox One recommended setup. This could potentially happen if your to close of way to far.

    Yes exactly like that, just put the Xbox One & STB in place of what was once just the STB as you have listed. I have found that telling my cable box to never turn off has been the best, really reduces signal detection times of the Xbox One on it's pass
    through HDMI input.
