Potential Issues with June Update

So, as most of us already know, the June update will be adding external storage. For those of us in the preview update, this is awesome because it means we get to use it first. However, it just occurred to me that, like every other update, this one is bound
to have issues. However, said issues could be more serious this time around - for example, something bad could happen to your saves during transfer or while it's on the external HDD. Imagine if you transfer all of your content onto your external HDD only to
find that due to a glitch with the update, your console can no longer read it so you can't access or transfer your games back onto the console or into the cloud. That's pretty scary if you ask me. So, to get to the point - do you think having access to it
early as part of the preview update is worth the potential risk?

Blu ray drive issues?

Anyone know if the June update will fix all the lingering blue ray drive issues introduced from the early preview builds/updates/ etc.? Because, even with the May update, I'm still experiencing issues; anyone else?

I applaud the folks who take part in the testing.... it's a dirty job but someone has to do it.

Myself.... I like to wait until it is "officially released" by MS.

 

The only real data we need to worry about is game saves, which are backed up on the cloud, so there shouldn't be an issue with losing that. Worse case would be having to reinstall or download a lot of GBs of games if something gets lost.

I would like to try out the external HDD update, do my part and all, but that means I'd have to buy a new HDD, and since I'm not dying for space, I'll most likely wait it out.

 

So far every preview I have done has been fine besides the issue with the disc drive 2 months ago. It was annoying, but my own trouble shooting got around it up until the point they fixed it.

 

Really Collapse? I've had at least 1 major issue with every single update so far.

As for the topic, I'm with you - no need to buy an HDD yet, so I'll probably just wait it out. What about the rest of you guys? For those of you in the preview update, does this bother you at all? For those of you not in the preview update, does this affect
whether you'd want to participate in it or not?

Aren't save games backed up to the cloud though, anyway? Everything else (movies, games etc..) should be easily recoverable, should something very bad happen.

 

Yeah, the disc drive issue was kind of a big deal but that was the only major issue I had with all previews. I never had any issues with 360 previews, but those weren't brand new consoles.

I thought the update where we could sew & manage our games & data would cause an issue but that was fine for me.

 

I am not to concerned. I only used external storage a few times back on XBOX 360 I was playing the recent Hitman game and it froze on me during the fifth or sixth chapter/mission, which for some reason wiped the entire game save, after that I saved it on
both the 360 HD and an USB Thumb Drive.

So in rare cases like those, is the only time I would use external storage on XBOX One. Unless the force us to use external storage. Which in that cause I won't update... but I highly doubt it would be forced.

 

I'm in the preview also. Noticed some people have got the update already!! I'm not worried about my saves. They're backed up in the cloud. There's an option to clear your local saves so it should be ok.

 

I don't play anything on the Xbox One which has a local save requirement. Titanfall, Call of Duty Ghosts, and Forza 5 all talk back to some sort of mothership.

I fully expect to lose everything on my console at some point during this next round of updates. If I really cared, I'd buy a second Xbox One and use that for things with local saves that I care about.
