Postage Question On Faulty Xbox One Controller

I was wondering why do I have to pay the P&P for me to send my faulty controller off to the European service centre, Shouldn't Microsoft cover this like they do for faulty consoles seeing as it is obviously under 12 months old? It's going to end up costing
me upwards of £10 to send it to the Czech Republic which I think is bang out of order. Shouldn't Microsoft cover these costs as it is still under warranty?

    :)

  2. Faulty Controllers for Xbox One - Paying for returning item to Czech Republic!

My own controller and my friends controller have both encountered faults - mainly staying connected to the console, but also problems with buttons and the play & charge.

When we tried to register a return, the only option we have is for Self Postage... To the Czech Republic. Which costs £54 for tracked international mail.

We spoke to Xbox Support who basically said there was nothing they could do and yes we would have to pay the whole postage costs, when we could go buy a new controller for £44. I guess Microsoft know that the return postage exceeds the cost of new controller
at stores so it makes them even more money.

It's absolutely disgusting that Microsoft deliver faulty product to early adopters of the Xbox One and treat them like dirt - not even covering postage costs for replacements.

So be warned - if you were good enough to pump money into Microsoft on their launch of the Xbox One.... you're probably going to end up with faulty goods which you have to pay huge amounts for international shipping, and they really couldn't care less.

  3. Faulty DAY ONE controller, chat headset port broken and trouble getting replaced

I have a faulty day one controller too, at first i thought it was my headset that was broken , but i borrowed a friends controller and it turns out the headset is fine and its the chat port on my day one controller thats knackerd.

I really dont want to send the whole console back to shopto.net as they don have any day one consoles left and i dont want to wait after christmas. And i cant really afford £10 to send it to CZECH REP. Can anyone help have you managed ti get them to pay
postage or at least offer some download points as a gesture of good will ?

It's disgusting to be honest. If you return the entire console under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as I almost did with the Microsoft store I bought it from) they are 100% liable for the return postage costs as it is faulty.

Because with a controller repair you're not actually returning the item to the place you bought it from MS seem to be able to charge for the return costs.

It might be legal but it's utterly shocking, especially given the frequency of failures meaning you could be sending it back more than once.

Xbox One Controller - Analog Stick Faulty

I've had exactly the same issue. Two controllers and both have the same left stick fault.

My faulty day one edition is still here because of the high postage costs to return it and the second has been replaced straight away by amazon.

    Scammed by Microsoft

@blitz apparently MS policy now after they told me the opposite is not to provide a postage paid docket to cover the cost of sending it. This was 3 weeks of phone arguments with them. I remember them providing postage paid emails when sending in consoles
and accessories on the 360. I looked up my local laws and reported them. And it seems I was right. Which is why they didn't ask me to send in the faulty one and just sent a new one.

    Faulty controller replacement under warranty

Not any companies iv delt with. Why would i pay to send something back thats faulty, if their product is faulty they should cover ALL of the cost, otherwise i would be out of pocket AND making me pay the postage to another country. Hideous!
The warranty on controllers, at least here in the U.S. is 90 days. You stated, "So, my controller has packed up 4 months after buying it...", so it would appear they were being nice just making you pay a one way shipping charge.

You also stated, "I think not, today i move to playstation 4!". They also have a 90 warranty on controllers. Here is the Sony link... https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/warranties/ps4/
