post migration username

Okay so I didnt do the migration initially for minecraft java edition. I did do the post migration process and figured all that out, however I'm not able to use the same minecraft username. Should i contact mojang and ask them to delete my pervious account so im able to use the same username? It says the name is already taken but if mojang deleted the account how is that possible? I looked up the user name on NameMc and its my minecraft skin and everything from my account. Im really unsure what to do as i have already visited the minecraft help center and have no recieved a response.

The issue is that that the username is mine. I've had this username for years. I haven't changed it ever. Up till just before I migrated, I had that username. When I migrated, I now apparently don't. No one else should be able to have got it.

This is not helpful, I am experiencing the same issue on an allready migrated account, the username is for THIS account.

Minecraft may ask you to change your username after updating the launcher due to several important reasons.

- Account Migration: Mojang, the company that develops Minecraft, has been migrating Mojang accounts to Microsoft accounts, During this process, you may be asked to change your username.
