Post-Black Friday, when are the best times to buy games? (until fall 2017)

After years of no gaming, I spent $700 on Black Friday

I bought:

$300 - 1TB Xbox One S with Halo 5 (+MC collection)

$150 - 40 inch 1080p LG TV.

$80 - Hyper X Cloud Headset

$40 - 7 months Xbox LIVE

$30 - GTA V

$24 - Play/Charge kit

$25 - The Witcher (complete)

$10 - Star Wars Battlefront

$15 - Far Cry Primal

$15 - Shadow of Morodor

Were these good deals? And when is the next time I should plan to buy more games?

Thanks for your thoughts and I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this, this is my first post, and I’ve essentially not played games in 10 years, resisting because I love them so much and have an addictive personality. But various factors (Trump
and the general bickering) have inspired me to give myself the gift of xbox.

go to the stores black Friday walmart, best buy got some at least the picture is in there black Friday ads, don't forget the black thanksgiving ads also

 

Good on ya, and some good deals there and some excellent games. There is no real good time to buy. Best thing is not buy on release day unless its a game your truly cant live without if your looking to save money, wait a while for a price reduction.
If you do want a release day buy shop around with online retailers as the price can be greatly reduced. If your into digital format keep an eye on the MS store as they regularly have great deals and good sales. Enjoy!

 

Also keep in mind you can get 4 free games a month with Games with Gold (2 360 and 2 One games). They'll be older usually, but they're free. As Genchy said, unless you really want a game, it pays to wait a bit after a game releases for a better price, but
if you have Amazon Prime you can get 20% off preorders.

Xbox has their Deals of the Weeks too, so there's always something on sale, but they also tend to have big sales at Christmas, spring, and summer as well.

 

All good deals, but if you shop around you can get a years worth of gold for $40.

Just after Christmas there are usually sales....at least here there are.

Every Tuesday the Xbox marketplace puts new games on sale. They stay on sale for a week and change every Tuesday so keep an eye out for that.

$40 for 7 months of XBOX LIVE? That's seems a bit pricey. I thought the 1 year card is like $50 or $60? I think XBOX had a $1 for 1 month on Black Friday? I read that somewhere. Better off to get XBOX LIVE for free now with Microsoft/Bing rewards.
Takes a while to get a 1 month or 3 month code but worth it. Well the 1 month is easy but get less value in points. But free is free. Also keep checking at the first and sixteenth of each month to get all 4 games. 2 for XBOX1 and 2 360 backward compatibles.
Don't have to download them. But click them on xbox.com and have them in the queue for safe keeping when bored. I have over 80+ games sitting in my queue.
