    Possible to use microSD card reader for external storage on Xbox One S?


    I'm trying to play movies from external storage on my Xbox One and was about to buy a USB drive when I realized have a 64 GB microSD card laying around. Is it possible to use a bus-powered microSD reader like

    this     with the Xbox One S?

    Hey there. Yes, your games have to be installed to your hard drive, even if it's a disc game for the best possible performance. If you would like, you can also use external storage with your console. The external hard drive has to use USB 3.0, and have at
    least 256 GB of storage. I found a 3 TB on Amazon's Gold Box for really cheap, and this is definitely the time of year to be watching for deals on electronics. I have a ton of games on mine, and I'm only at 33% capacity, and my console is a 500 GB model.

    Using the same HDD for Xbox One and 360

    Well, in about two months I'll get a Xbox One, but I',m in need for external storage for my 360 As far as I know, Xbox One supports USB 3.0 upwards, and Xbox 360 USB 2.0 upwards, so I don't expect as clash there, but what about the data on the external storage?
    Basicly I only need 100-200gb for my 360, but I'll need a big storage for my One down the line, so I thought I could maybe use the same storage for both. Can anyone help me with this, is it possible to use the same storage for both consoles?

    I can't say about if would be able to use a MICRO SD card to store and run games however the smallest external drive the console will recognise is 256 GB.

    I'd be using it as media storage, which means it wouldn't have to meet the 256 GB minimum requirement (per that page you linked to)

    it worked fine for me on 360. there was a free game Worms, that came on the old Memory Units, and was only licensed to play free from that type of device. so if you copied it to a disc or hard drive it would not play. i put it on an SD card and plugged
    in a reader through USB and it worked fine. i know xbox one isn't always the same, and this is for media as opposed to xbox data, but i would think it should be fine. i could try it for you later and post back if you want.

    it worked fine for me on 360. there was a free game Worms, that came on the old Memory Units, and was only licensed to play free from that type of device. so if you copied it to a disc or hard drive it would not play. i put it on an SD card and plugged

    If external that would be why

    You can only put it in an internal memory or storage card

    Now I'd you are saying you have a Xbox one S

    That isn't a series s

    Series consoles.are different and are not considered Xbox one nor is it part of the name

    Also any games.that are meant for the series consoles has to be on storage card or.internal memory

    Xbox one games works regardless of Xbox one s or og or one x

    And you can use any storage

    But for Xbox series consoles there is only s or x not one s/x

    And only games on optimized nvme or the Xbox nvme storage card will download the series version

    If you put it on external it would only download the Xbox one as you arent running thr optimized nvme
