    Possible Solution/Workaround for "Your TV signal was lost"


    I experience the "Your TV signal was lost" issue; I am not sure if the problem is the age of my TV or the Xbox One itself. I have a Toshiba 40RV525U from 2008; more or less ancient in terms of how technology has progressed.

    After being frustrated that i could never watch TV through my Xbox One, even after a factory reset, I figured out an annoying work around. I would unplug the HDMI cable running from the Xbox One to the TV, usually from the back of the Xbox, and plug it
    back in. This would allow me to receive a TV signal.

    After dealing with this for about a year I found a better work around; if I switch to a different input on the TV, for me its "ColorStream HD2", and switch back to the input with my Xbox One I am able to watch TV.

    "We've lost your TV signal"

    New xbox one. Same problem for me, at least now I know that it is a problem with microsoft and not my topbox or my cables. Has Microsoft addressed this problem, at all, or even admitted that there is a problem?

    Yup, I had been using that work around for years. Over that time, the instance of this issue would happen more or less. It had been pretty much error free for the last few months, until about a week ago however. Now it happens 100% of the time for me and
    those workarounds no longer work. The only way I can get my connection to reestablish is to physically power down my TiVo and power it back up.

    Just to note that my #1 no longer seems to work. #2 still does but is mighty inconvenient when your DVR happens to be recording and you can turn it off. What a frustrating device this has been.

    This has been happening to me too for quite some time. Being able to run my cable box through my xb1 was convenient due to having a sound bar with an optical output and my tv not supporting optical. Running it through the xb1 it sounds great...when it's
    working...which lately has proven to be very rare. Did you guys ever get it fixed? I've seen others complain about the same issue with no fixes.

    well, i'm unplugging my cable box from my xbox one, since it never works anymore. when i got my xbox one, live tv worked most of the time and, if it didn't, it was easily resolved. now, through the last few updates, live tv works 5% of the time if i'm
    lucky, with no way to resolve the error when it occurs. so the update effectively took away functionality from my xbox one, and i'm now unplugging something that's supposed to be a core feature of the system over PS4. way to go xbox/microsoft. cheers all
