Possible scam involving purchasing Rise of Iron? I'm very upset.

So I wanted to preorder Rise of Iron for Destiny. However after search on the marketplace on my Xbox One, it said I could only get it from the Collection bundle for $60. Then later I learned from other complaints that people spent too much money on it. It
turns out theres a supposed "standalone" preorder for Rise of Iron that DOES not show up on searching in the market for $30. So I go to support, hoping I can get a partial refund of $30 because of this mess up with the market place and I only get two options:
A: I take a FULL refund and purchase said standalone and lose my preorder bonuses or B: Do nothing. Both of these options are unacceptable to me for the following reasons:

1: I'm very unhappy with having to pay DOUBLE what I should really be paying and not solving this will only encourage more problems like this to arise.

2: Picking option A essentially "punishes" me, the victim of this, by taking away my preorder that I can't get back. Why should I take the fall for a problem that is clearly Microsoft's (and maybe Bungie's?) fault. This is stupid and unacceptable. Taking
option B only encourages future problems to crop up as stated in reason 1.

3: Bungie has yet to comment on ANYTHING regarding this issue on their Destiny forums according to my searching, which raises my suspicions that they don't care and MIGHT be greedy about it.

4: Why is there no system in place to DISCOUNT bundles when you purchased, owned, and installed content incluuded in this bundle BEFORE said bundle was made available? I essentialy payed $30 for content I already own. If said system was in place this issue
    would have NEVER happened

In the end, this is a major screw up that is not properly being compensated for. It makes no sense for me to GIVE UP all my preorder stuff I wanted because some market decides to scam me by not giving me a standalone option upon searching. Is there ANY way
I can get to a solution that compensates me WITHOUT punishing me for something that is not my fault?

    :)

    I am upset !?

Sorry, but it is not possible to use currency on your account to purchase a gold subscription. Gold can only be purchased via credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid gold subscription card in store.

    Possible scam

I received early today this message by the user [mod removed]

"M2AF i just got the season pass for free at [mod removed]"

This is exactly the content of this message.

He refers to the season pass for Gears of War 3.

It's a scam, dont sign in in that page or give any real information about your account.

Of course I didnt give any real username and/or password so I'm not asking for help here, I'm just warning the community.

    Hope this warning helps!

Possible scam involving purchasing Rise of Iron? I'm very upset.

For Rise of Iron issues, this is now a known issue with Xbox and they are waiting for an update from Bungie about the DLC's availability to be standalone.

Regarding the prepaid code that you could purchase from any retailer like GameStop, this has been a known confusing issue that they've been doing I think for the past few years. Some gamers would contact Xbox Support claiming they couldn't download the game
after redeeming the DLC code while the truth is the code that the retailers are selling to their customers were actually CSV or Currency Stored Value, former Microsoft Points, that can be used to "Purchase" the actual DLC.

Now the problem about the availability of the standalone version of the DLC Rise of Iron happened. Hence, those who claimed to have purchased the DLC Code from the retailers got confused more. The Rise of Iron DLC can only be purchased by bundles. However,
this is kind of a misdirection because first of all, those who would want to purchase just the DLC only mean that they own the previous DLCs or expansions. Hence, it would be pointless to purchase the bundle and having two titles as a license.

Now, to those who are here and who would come here, please have more patience as there's a possibility that an update from Bungie will be forwarded to the Xbox's store. You also have an option to contact them directly and ask them about this case.

My account can't purchase one specific thing.

    Hey there Wr4th6661.

Is it possible on of the pieces of DLC you own was purchased on a different account? If that's the case, you'll need to make sure you own all DLC on the account that is attempting to purchase Rise of Iron.

    Preordering Rise of iron

    Hi all,

In order to purchase Destiny: Rise of Iron you must make sure your account which is trying to purchase Rise of Iron owns Destiny: The Taken King. That is required to be able to purchase Rise of Iron.

Now if you have finished that step then you have a few methods of which you can buy the DLC:

    1. You can sign into your account via this link here:
    www.microsoft.com/.../c3tbg0pc3fc9
    and buy the DLC

    Or

    2. Launch your game and under the director select the icon for Rise of Iron and select purchase and try to purchase the DLC.

Now you also could try searing the Store on your Xbox One for "Destiny: Rise of Iron" but if you do make sure it says "Pre-Order" otherwise you will run into the issue of it stating it can only be bought in a bundle.

    I hope this helps :)

    Destiny Rise of Iron issue

I seem to be getting something different.

I can't easily find "Destiny: Rise of Iron" in the store pages without doing a manual search for "Rise of Iron".

I get an add-on page for ROI, but there's no purchase/pre-order options. There's only a message that says "(!) Destiny: Rise of Iron is currently not available."

    Destiny Rise of Iron issue

    Hey everyone!

In order to purchase Rise of Iron, you need to own ALL previous expansions for Destiny on the account that is purchasing Rise of Iron. This means that if another account owns a piece of DLC that is being shared via Home console, you would not be able to
purchase Rise of Iron without either buying the previous DLC or purchasing the bundle.

Thanks for your understanding and if you have any other Xbox support questions please create a new thread. Thanks!
