possible issues with Series X internet interruption while updating

After the Verifying stage of the update the console will shut down and restart to Apply the update.

On a Series X you should see the Xbox button flash about 5-6 times as it restarts before the screen will go blank and then a few seconds later the console will restart so the update can be Applied.

Don't interrupt this process by manually restarting the console. If you do interrupt this process the update will download and verify again, and then do a automatic restart so it can Apply the update. Be patient while it completes and returns to the sign-in screen.

While good advice Xenomorph, especially considering it's length, it's generally good practice to never interrupt any system update where possible.

My series X is in the basement and is connect via wireless to the internet. I do not use the Xbox one and it isn’t even plugged in. What is confusing me is that before I got the series X I never had this issue. It only happened once I got the series x. That is what’s making this frustrating because it is the newer console but having this issue. Could it possibly be something with the system itself?

I’m not sure how to reach these settings, but I’m quite certain it is not an issue with my router. My series x has worked for months before now, and all other devices on the network are working, including my Xbox one and Xbox one x. I have been having this issue since roughly the time that my series x last updated, is it possible that the issue is an overlooked bug in the series x OS?

Given it started after a firmware update, then it's likely the update caused it...sometimes updates have unintended consequences and it's possible that it has disrupted the ability to use the new Series X/S controllers on older XBox One systems. If that's the case, they will hopefully fix it with another update, though it may be a while
