Possible Fix for a faster install speed.

This worked for me and I got it from a reddit post about CoD AW. This may not work for you. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

First check your current usage. Go to Settings>Network>Bandwidth Usage and on the top left it'll say what yours Current Usage is.

IF it's low like mine was, 200 kbps then try this.

Go to DNS setting in Network and change your Primary to 8.8.8.8

Then change your secondary to 8.8.4.4

After that go to Alternate MAC address and select clear. This will prompt a restart. Do it. Then go back to surrent usage and see if it's improved. this will increase the download speed if it worked.

Mine went from anywhere between 10-400 kbps to 3.5 mbs.

Edit: Also note that if the usage drops again just repeat the clearing of the MAC address and it'll pop back up to 3.5 or whatever you get from it.

USB drive compatibility

I wouldn't install a game to a USB disk. Read speeds are not as fast as an onboard hard drive. If you insist, however, it's possible.

 

External hard drive choices

Anyone recomend me one off Amazon? Looking for 2TB faster load speeds and powered off the Xbox if possible, thanks in advance :smashin:

 

Good to see it works on the One as I haven't had a chance to try it on the One yet. I used it for my PS4 and what was a 73 minute dl dropped to 13 minutes. There are two primary/secondary DNS to try: primary - 8.8.8.8 secondary - 8.8.4.4 or the other primary
- 208.67.222.222 and the secondary - 208.67.220.220

 

I am not sure why this would work. Those addresses are google's:
