    Hi there,

    I've recently been playing Halo Master Chief Collection and noticed an increase in controller disconnections and not being able to reconnect until I've restarted the console like a lot of other people.

    I have however managed to stop the random disconnects experienced by simply not allowing smart glass to connect to my console and have disabled smartglass on my laptop and smart phone.

    I hope this solution works for some other people... you can disable smartglass connections through your 'preference' settings on your console.

    Xbox one controller disconnecting issue

    By suggesting I follow this step, are you therefore saying that being in the xbox insider programme is a possible cause for controller disconnection?

    X1 Desperate Help !!

    I'll start up a game and in about 5 minutes or so my controller disconnects. I've figured out that every time I see my controller disconnect, that live actually disconnects as well. Does anyone know how the controller and live are related? I need a fix desperately!! I never had the problem before only started about a month ago. Don't know why I'm getting disconnected from live

    possibly. recently I've been experiencing frequent connection drops even with the official adapter, and updating the controller via console (as the PC app is missing the update option) appears to have fixed it temporarily until tonight when I started experiencing disconnects again. this is also with a fairly new Series controller which hasn't experienced any disconnects until the past few weeks

    Oh yeh apparently this update fixed the controller disconnect issues! Pffffft! Updated my console, updated my controller, and guess what? Disconnected twice yesterday for no reason. Real great fixing Microsoft!

    2 xboxs in one room. HELP.

    Does the controller turn on both consoles as well? I can think of two possible alternate explanations:

    1. Your controller is connected to a specific XBL profile, which is logged onto or connected to both consoles.

    Try removing the profile from one of the consoles, and see if this fixes the issue.

    2. Someone has synced your controller to the other console without your knowledge.

    I would recommend disconnecting the controller from both consoles. Disconnect the Xbox you don't want to be controlled by your controller from it's power source. Then resync your controller to the other Xbox.
