Possibility of Sidetone on Xbox One Stereo Headset?

After a moderate amount of shopping around last summer, I picked up the Xbox One Stereo Headset. It seemed like the sweet spot of price and performance for me, and I'm happy to say that it turned out to be a mostly positive experience. (The headset adapter
that came with it stopped working, and I needed to replace it out of warranty, but that's another issue.)

However, when I first bought the headset, I wasn't playing a lot of online games. Recently, I've started playing a lot more Destiny, and I've been using the headset to chat with friends while playing. This is when I realized I have one fairly major problem
with this headset.

There's no "sidetone" or "mic monitor" feature, so I can't hear myself speaking with the headphones on. I really don't like that.

I know I'm not the only person that would like this feature. Is there any chance that this feature could be added in a future controller firmware update?

If not, does anyone know of any good 3rd party adapters that would perform a sidetone mix from the microphone back to the headset? (I really don't like that idea.)

I tested the headset on my phone and the mic works. The only possibility what I can think of is that it is a software flaw. None of my other stereo headsets work now on the Xbox

Xbox One Stereo Headsets. And, both headsets work well, with and without the
Stereo Headset Adapters, on all our Xboxes.
