    POSS BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH - HELP NEEDED


    So my sons birthday was yesterday, and he was playing his game and suddenly the xb1 froze, he turned it off, and we rebooted it by holding button in for 5 secs. green screen came on with the 3 circles and then BLANK SCREEN, left it for hours and no joy,
    rebooted it 5 times and still the same, changed the hdmi and resolution too but no joy! Does this have to go for repair??Im pretty good technically and I have done everything bar call xbox up.

    There is a 120gb WD HDD in it!!!! I took it apart bc i am very savvy with computers and it doesn't even have a 500gb samsung in it!!! so whoever suckered me, really got me. Anyone know how to install Xbox OS on a new hdd??

    Having the same issues. Playing Battleblock Theater and bam! Crashed out, error about Home taking too long and 5 hours of trying to fix it later and no result. This update is balls.

    Same issue after update today. Hard reset does not fix. Any help would be appreciated.

    Sorry to hear it guys. Can you please try power cycling the console down again then press and hold the power button while unplugging it (be sure to hold the button until light stops flashing) then leave it unplugged for 5 minutes?

    If that doesn't work you may need to send the console in for a repair. You can set one up at the link below.

    Hey guys. Turn it off using the same method, but take any discs out, unplug the power cord and all other cords from the back. Wait 5 minutes, plug your power and network cable back in only, and try rebooting. When you get to the green screen, let it sit
    for 10 minutes.

    If that doesn't help, sometimes trying it a couple more times will help, but sometimes you will have to do a factory reset using the Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool:

    support.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool    . If it comes to that, you will have to reinstall all games and apps that are installed to your internal hard drive.
