    Positive identification of an administrator


    My child was playing with other children on xbox live. I overheard a voice asking the boys to make a trade. The voice was much older, I would guess someone in their mid 20's. The voice said that they were an administrator and they could grant access
    to special areas as a trade. (qualifier, I know very little about xbox live). This seemed strange to me and I chimed in asking the "administrator" how we could verify in fact that he was an admin. At first the "voice" said that if I didn't believe he
    could get a admin of a higher lever to verify. I kept challenging , he said all administrators were listed on a website...asked for the URL and he said that was private. He said he had to sign off, because of my constant questioning. This doesn't make
    sense to me. Seems llke there should be a place on the screen to identify an Admin.

    Help me understand, am I way off base?

    If you still have his gamertag, you should file a complaint on him via the console. It definitely sounds like you were correct though and it was someone just trying to scam them.

    Never ever give out your details to anyone over xbox live.

    As a rule of thumb never ever trade with someone in game if you don't know & trust the person.

    Everything this individual told you was untrue.

    Thanks, for coming to the forums with your issue. being the windows is unable to repair and such. We suggest reinstall the complete windows OS. There could be virus's that are causing all this.
