    Positive Feedback to a User?

Omitting the end of RED was a copy/paste error. The entire text reads:

A user who routinely receives lots of negative feedback and causes trouble in the community. To prevent further abuse, the user will most likely be matched with other low-reputation players.

So again I stand by all my above statements - a person receiving "3 message and 4 sore loser" reports over a 6 month period is not considered a user who 'Routinely receives lots of negative feedback and causes trouble in the community". No one with a fair
logical mind would think that deserves a red status.

Was I yellow for 4 months, fall to orange and then red? No

Was I orange the whole time? No.

    Was I ever yellow? No

Was I ever even orange? No.

    Shouldn't be red. Period.

Since PET doesn't help, we'll let Microsoft Legal decide.

oh....and by the way...as you defend the "Working as Designed" Reputation system - you may like to know that Mike Ybarra (Partner Director of Program Management, Xbox and Windows Platform at Microsoft) Tweeted out today:

"We're looking at reputation and have changes in the works. More on this soon."

I read through some of those Reddit posts you linked Hoz. I think it's kinda funny how people assume that their bad reputation comes from, paraphrasing here, "I'm awesome at [insert game] and people resent that I'm awesome so they bad rep me."

First guy in that thread has four reports in the messaging category. Things like that can be checked. So maybe while he's going about being awesome at [insert game] he feels the need to send disparaging messages to people less awesome at [insert game].

If you go to the Destiny thread on these forums you'll find a bunch of gamers who play MP almost non-stop, and they have sterling reps. What's that about? A glitch in the matrix of a community with a userbase allegedly stacked with false reporters?

The CoD's and Battlefields, Gears and Destinies sell millions of copies, have immense installed/userbases, and yet there aren't millions of complaints regarding the rep system. It's a quirky, vocal tiny, tiny minority when you examine the numbers that should
be impacted by this bad reputation system and the resentful, envious of l3git sk1llz gamer gods, false reporters using it.

I don't know if there is a problem with the reputation/reporting system on Xbox One, but it seems to me that everybody with bad reputations blames everything but themselves. The system, the community, their own enviable pro-killer-skillz0rs... anything but...
griefing, maybe, or teabagging constantly, or talking non-stop, or sending messages that aren't nice, spawn-killing... who knows? It could be their awesomeness, fo reels!

Personally I agree and feel the system might be improved by implementing some form of notification system before a reputation hits that "Avoid Me" status. a bit like a teacher trying to curb a student's bad behaviour... the student is put on notice for doing
X, and can avoid doing X in the future. But the student has to know that X is to be avoided before a student can stop doing X.

If this was implemented, if not a drop in bad reputations, we might see a clear drop in the students apparently being reprimanded for getting A's and being nothing but awesome each and every school day. The MLG elite with bad reps I mean.

Because most of the complaints, going with my analogy, read like this to me, "I get straight A's every term, every year since I started high school, I've been amazing. I help other students study. Now I'm suspended with threats of expulsion! The system is
clearly broken. I'm innocent, an amazing student, and I'm punished for it!"

Huh, something is clearly wrong here. Or, that ^^ student is full of poo, and has a skewed sense of self regarding their behaviour, performance, and attitude.

    ... or sahhink. Innit. =)

And yet again the Twit says nothing of the people who claim its "broken". How again are people making that leap?

That was a great read Argon, really appreciated it - well written.

In the end, I really only care about my situation. I'm a 38 year old adult, Ive been on XBL and played games forever. These days, MP games seem to be filled with an overwhelming amount of under-supervised kids and I'm sure a lot of them are reporting freaks
and report people whenever they get a zit - and I'm sure many deserve to be avoided.

But in the end, I have three good friends I play with online daily - two being in their 50's and one's son in his 20's. They're like my best friends - online.

When something amounting single digits of dumb reports immediately ruins that 1) I'm going to get *** 2) Im going to fight it 3) Im going to question the system (not in that order haha).

I work in the software industry as a Software QA Manager, I know firsthand that software is fallible - I see it every single day, all day, all week all month and have to deal with the repercussions. based on the information presented to me on the rep page
for my account, and the lack of assistance from "XBLPET", and a growing number of complaints, I really think there is a flaw - and the system could use some enhancing.

Just my 2 cents. I just want to go back to my past time without being stuck in a matchmaking session as person 1-12 for an hour because of some flaw, where yes, "I" believe the punishment here doesn't come close to fitting the crime.

Thank you for the thoughful response, I liked it.

I believe if the rep system was messed up as much as a select few keep saying it is, the major gaming blogs would have full blown articles about it. They all love to krap on Microsoft whenever they can. Is the system perfect? Probably not, but it seems that
only a select few are having issues. Also, we are only seeing one side of the coin (theirs), and there might be some evidence we will never see that counters the claims of these select few. I am open to the belief in the rep system having flaws, I just haven't
seen evidence of widespread "massive" problems as is being stated here. Hopefully MS is monitoring and adjusting as they see fit in order to make things as fair as possible.

Its actually starting to blow up - scouring the social media sites and the issues with GoW seems to have sparked it.

So, If a bunch of Reds hit social media to explain their short comings, that should give them a pass?

Serve your 6 months and get your Reps back up. You violated the ToU #DealWithIt

My insider tells me that you're all full of it.

Watch_Dogs has a positive feedback feature in the game. I assume it works within the framework of matchmaking purely for Watch_Dogs though. So a Watch_Dogs player with positive feedback is more likely to find games to invade, faster, and with more frequency
than a player with no positive feedback, maybe.

Or maybe Ubisoft is just collecting positive feedback scores for giggles and it has no impact on anything.

The negative feedback in the game is tied to Xbox Live though, and brings up the usual options through the console. I've left positive feedback for any player that sticks around long enough for me to hack them, just for taking the hit as the game intends.
The negative I've only used once, and it was a guy dropping out just before my hack finished. So, Quit Early, then. I think I typed, "Dude quit out at 99% of my in-game hack! For shame!" In the comment thingy. lol

Single-digit reports over a period of months isn't a lot, but maybe it factors in the nature of the report, and if a pattern emerges in player feedback across different players, and different sessions seperated by great lengths of time, then action is more
direct. So if a Quit Early report comes four times over two months or something... meh. Not sure I'd feel bad if his rep took a hit.

If the dude has to pensively and honestly answer, "Yeah, maybe." When asked if he's ever quit early from a game. Then yeah, hit his rep. Because I know I can say, "No, never." With certainty. lol Difference between "Good Player" and "Needs Work" IMO. In
both Xbox Live rep terms and real life, gamer dooshebaggery terms.

I don't agree with a status going from positive to can't get a freaking game with no warning or notifications between rep changes though. So from "Good Player" to "Avoid Me" there should definitely be some kind of notification and warning for the paying
Gold subscriber to avoid, "Avoid Me" status.

-- the Twitter feed thing, AceyBongos rep is always up and down. It was "Good Player" for a week or so maybe a fortnight ago, went back down to "Needs Work" again recently. Can't stand that dude in the Xbox expo/presser thingies. I don't know if he deserves
his rep status for his gaming or not though. I do know I'd like to see Rooster Teeth or something given the job of Xbox insider stuff. With full power to say what they think sucks and what doesn't... jettison that horrible, fake, kids TV presenter enthusiasm
for absolutely everything tied to Xbox. ~shivers~ I hate that stuff. So don't watch it.

I would remove the "What's On" tab from my X1 dash if I had that option. Or customise the official stuff to not appear there, again, if I had that option. {XD

Just played my first match online in madden 16 last night at the end of the game it asks if you had a positive or negative experience with the other player. Maybe more games should adopt something similar

Hoz, you're begging the question. You state "it's a glitch", then support your claim that it was "broken" to begin with.

Or maybe just maybe, everything worked as intended. You broke rules, paid the fines and can now play again. It's not like it was supposed to be Perma Avoid, maybe with enough though...
