1. Portal 2 (Xbox 360 game) won't install on Xbox One

Hi,
I am running into a problem when I try to install Portal 2 on my Xbox One. Both the digital version and my Xbox 360 disc are running into the same error. When I start the installation process, the installation stops after a few seconds. I receive an error message that states: "Give it another try Not sure what happened there. (0x80070005)". Why am I running into this problem and how can I fix it?

Thanks

:)

Portal 2 unable to purchase

Hey AceGuider,

Have you tried purchasing Portal 2 on the Xbox 360 Marketplace on Xbox.com? The link that Dracaryz provided above is currently the only way to purchase Portal 2 for Backwards Compatible play on your Xbox One console. Once you purchase the game from the Xbox
360 Marketplace, you will be able to install it on your Xbox One through your 'Ready to install' list.

Hello @RyanDavidson8!

I will list below some fixes to the error code you are receiving. Once you have time, please give it a try and let us know the results!

Clear the cache on Xbox 360:

1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
2. Select Storage.
3. Highlight but don’t select a storage device, and then press the Y button on your controller for Device Options.
4. On the Device Options screen, select Clear System Cache.
5. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.
When you’ve successfully cleared the system cache, you’ll return to the Storage Devices screen. You can then press the Guide button  on the controller and return to Xbox Home

Power Cycle your console:

1. Turn off your Xbox by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds. The console will turn off.
2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.
Check the space on your hard drive:

View your notifications on your Xbox console to make sure you have enough space on your hard drive to install the content. Here’s how:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select the Notifications icon.
2. See if there are any notifications about low or unavailable hard drive space. Xbox alerts you when you’re running low.
3. If there’s a notification about low hard drive space, you’ll have to either delete content to free up space or add an external drive.
Check for a system update:

You may need to update your console. For example, if you see a “Download stopped” error, you may need to install an update before the download can complete.

To see if there’s an update available:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.
3. If there are any updates, they’ll appear in the left menu. If not, you'll see "No console update available."
I hope this helps you out!

Portal 2 backwards compatibility

Hey there PardusV,

To clarify, not all games can be purchased on the console and need to be purchased on the website as murph17 suggested. Portal 2 is one in specific that you would need to purchase either on an Xbox 360 console or on xbox.com

You can purchase the game on xbox.com
HERE
and then download the game on your Xbox One console from the Ready to Install section.

Hope that helps!
