Portable USB Drive for Xbox 360 Memory?

Ok, as any avid gamer, you have a LOT of games, and I have a TON of On Demand Games, and running out of space fast. I have one of those 320 GB Hard Drive for the Classic Xbox 360's (not smile, the old consoles, big and white), and well... I'm running out
of room. I have used 270 GBs so far, and I plan on buying more on Demand Games and the like.

Well, here's the thing. I know you can use USB devices and such for memory and the like, well, what about those HUGE USB Portable Devices you use for backups and whatnot for a computer? I want to buy a 500 GB USB Portable Hard Drive, and if I can, just use
it for my Xbox 360 memory, and transfer everything to it.

Can I do this at all? I looked on the internet, and they have supposed ways to do it, but doesn't explain in complete detail on whether it works or not (I see places deny that it can, and places where it says you can). Am I able to do it at all? Am I limited
to certain things like videos and pictures on it (I've seen places say you can only do that). Am I able to use everything from the Xbox Marketplace, such as On demand games, etc.?

Why I ask all this, is because as I said, some places said you can and can't. Plus I had a 4 GB Flash Drive, and I was able to put Arcade games on it and such, and all that is is USB.

Anyway yeah, it's sad that 320 GB is the max for a hard drive that you can buy, because that right there is like 20-30 on demand games, or less, mixed with Arcade games, downloading from disc, and etc (on my PC I have 600 GBs worth of games). I know some
of you will probably say, just delete what you don't play, true, but I love having everything there, just in case I want to play it, and I play almost all my games in a given 1 or 2 months, even if it's for a little bit. So if I could use a USB hard drive,
like I said above, that would be great. Also, I mean, the USB hard drive I'm looking at is 500 GB, for $50, which is the same price for the 250 GB Xbox Hard Drive on Amazon.

    Thanks for your time!

    :)

  3. Using Portable Hard Drive, Not Showing

I connected my 1 TB portable hard drive to the xbox 360 via the USB port and it is not recognized. Is there something I am doing wrong?? Why won't the 360 recognize the hard drive??? Do I need some special software on the hard drive???

Portable USB Drive for Xbox 360 Memory?

You can use an external USD drive, but you are limited to using 32gb of space on the drive. You can use up to 2 USB devices for a total of 64gb of extra space.

Hmm, I see, well that really sucks... I know they are moving on to Xbox One, but even 320 GBs for an avid gamer that likes to buy on Demand games and install discs, that much space is so little...

Thanks anyway! If anyone wants to confirm what the person said, would be great!

    Backwards compatible games wont save

You don't need to buy a new memory card, those slots are for the older portable memory cards that you could use before USB drives were supported.

Is it giving you some sort of error when you try to save?
