Portable Hard Drive not connecting to Xbox One

My Seagate Portable Drive is in my Xbox One, but the Xbox doesn’t see it and it’s not shown in settings. This drive has been working as normal for about the last 3 months, and ut just started acting up earlier this week. I’ve tried restarting, plugging it in to a different part, power cycles, and basically everything but a reset. How do I fix this?

Ok, I will answer my own question:

Desktop external hard drives tend to be faster since they have their own power supply and I find its cheaper (gb per $ wise) to go with a desktop hard drive then a portable one.

I know WD makes an external portable hard drive designed specifically for consoles like the Xbox One. I would maybe check that one out if you want to go portable.

As long as its USB 3 then your good to go all you'll need to do is format it for the Xbox One. Either one you can keep plugged in and the console will keep it powered on so plug in and forget about it.
