    How about the accessory type of device that would be connecting with the new xbox, can be used as a portable station and if connected can be used a s a controller for the new xbox? A bit too much but as an idea it would be fun? Like the WP8 it could be also
    connecting with the MS account to have your WP8 games there but it would be also compatible with the old games you had on the xbox...

    Dufful is correct. The difference is how each are cooled.

    Internals are open and in a case with a fan. Most externals are in small cases designed to be portable rather than being concerned about keeping them cool.

    There are external options where cooling has been taken into consideration or even a docking station but I'm not sure how the One OS views a docking station and if it would work.
