    Port Forwarding with IPv4/IPv6?

I'm hoping someone here knows the answer to this - so, I had my port forwarding all set up before (I was only getting an IPv4 address until very recently from my ISP.) Yesterday I had a tech out for some connection issues and he replaced my Cable Box and
my Router (a new **** tg1682g.) Here's my question - the nature of IPv6 is that Port Forwarding should no longer be necessary. I even on the IPv6 info page on the Xbox site that "it removes the need for Network Address Translation." This sounds to me like
Port Forwarding is no longer necessary.

Since I just received a new router from Comcast, I figured I'd try it without the port forwarding. When I go into my network settings on my Xbox, it DOES show "IPv4 & IPv6" for connection type (which is what it should show if you're correctly connected via
IPv6) but it still shows "Moderate NAT." Is that just a side effect of the OS settings still having a secondary IPv4 connection, or should I still be forwarding the Xbox ports, even though I'm connected via IPv6?

Another bit that contributes to the confusion is that, for some reason, the router's firmware allows you to specify both IPv4 AND IPv6 addresses for port forwarding, which is a bit odd since IPv6 eliminates NAT....

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

    How do I get ipv6??

This is so stupid, I'm stuck on ipv4. If I had known I'd have to go through this crap with nat types and port forwarding and all that crazy nonsense, I'd never have bought an Xbox one.

Someone help I'm getting way too frustrated , more than I should

  3. Unfixable 100% packet loss, I think.

hi. Recently bought Xbox one s with downloadable pubg, am able to play on ipv4 but not ipv6 if tried everything that I know of except dmz and port triggering. Unless my understanding of port forwarding is wrong. My idk is stumped and besides calling Microsoft
all I can do is use the online support (non human interation). Any help would be awesome.

    Port Forwarding with IPv4/IPv6?

Wondering if you have had any luck with finding an answer. We now have the same hardware from comcast and are experiencing the same issue.

    Native IPv6 Support

    Hey there, Xx ROZILLA xX.

You shouldn't run into any NAT issues with IPv6, which would eliminate the need to enable UPnP or port forward. If you only use the Xbox One, than it's definitely a great option! One thing to note is that the Xbox 360 does not support IPv6, but it should
work if your public IPv6 network is internally handing out IPv4.

ICMP Error ? After 2 years of perfect gaming !

Internet Control Message Protocol. Freely translated ICMP is 'port or host destination is unreachable'.

maybe a too much technical question, what type of protocol you provider delivers? IPv4 or IPv6?

    example:

    IPv4: 0.0.0.0

    IPv6: 2001:2353::1428:57ab

Working Solution To Obtain an Xbox One Live Open Nat

Xbox One users Let me make this simple. Forward port 3544 to 3074.

    Reason:

Microsoft uses IPv6 so it first encapsulates your inbound traffic that eventually should go to port 3074 (Xbox Live) using Teredo:

    en.wikipedia.org/.../Teredo_tunneling

That's why port 3544 needs to be forwarded to port 3074 if you have an IPv4 based system. Otherwise if your network is IPv6 based port 3544 will probably not even be used. Quote from wikipedia reference Teredo:

"Teredo should be disabled when native IPv6 connectivity becomes available"

Hope this has made my posts a little more understandable. I'm just trying to help. :)

    Strict Nat Issues

I germany there was a Problem with Provider unitymedia. The Internetconnection they provide was:

Dual Stack lite ! This means that you get NO Personal IPv4 Adress but only an public IPv4 Adress like mobile phones. This also means that you can port forward or use upnp because you are on a NAT network of your provider - your IPv4 is used by thousands
of persons (like on a mobile phone).

So you can ask your Provider if dual stack lite is used. Or you can try to disable IPv6 on your Modem 8If you provider gives you an IPv6 IP).
