  1. Port Forwarding 360, Using same ports as XB1

    Hi,

I''m currently trying to port forward my XBOX 360 but, I have port forwarded my XBOX One and it's using the same ports that I am required to forward for my 360.

Current ports being used for my XBOX One:

    - 53

    - 80

    - 88

    - 500

    - 3074

    - 3544

    - 4500

    Ports needed for XBOX 360:

    - 53

    - 80

    - 88

    - 3074

Whenever I enter a port to forward for the 360, I get an error message saying that the port is already being used.

Are there other ports that I can forward as appose to those that I have already used for my XBOX One? My router is a Virgin Media Superhub 2.

    Thanks

    :)

  2. NAT and party chat issues

Spent about an hour on the phone with microsoft.. did some googling.. heres where i am at.. may have isolated the problem... it seems that if you have an XB1 and a 360 on the same network the xb1 uses 4 of the same ports. so if the 360 is off your xb1 nat
is open. however turn on the 360 and it takes over 4 of the 7 ports leaving your xb1 with a restricted nat and some connectivity issues.. forwarding these ports to the xb1 leave the 360 with a strict nat.. soo theres your problem isolated microsoft... fix
    it please.

Hey darkavenger786! Some routers do not allow ports to forward to multiple devices. Your best bet is to check out the steps

    here
and see if they can help open your NAT for both devices. Thanks!

Can't Open My NAT. Tried Pretty Much Everything.

I know it's not possible to port forward for two consoles. I said that when I SWITCH to my 360 and change the ports it works and opens the NAT, but when I switch the ports back to the XB1's IP it's still strict (I'm curious as to why doing it on the 360
works but doesn't on the XB1)

I also know that the XB1 uses 7 ports to the 360s 4.

What is a a cone NAT?

Thanks so cone nat is normal.

    Ive tried 3 routers.

TPLink WR841N. Which was no good as NAT would go strict randomly and struggled to get open nats on both xb1 and 360 at same tiime.

BT Homehub 3. Which can have open NATs on both consoles but contains a bug where UPnP, Port forwarding and DMZ will break every couple of days requiring reboot.

BT homehub 5. Again supports 2 xboxes but for some reason xb1 cant open required ports. It appears xb1 is not compatible with the UPnP function of this router at all. I have to port forward ports 3074 and 3075 to the xb1 ip address to open the nat..Strangely
even though port 3074 is forwarded to xb1 my 360 is still able to get an open nat via UPnP even though the logs claim that upnp opens port 3074 to xbox 360..

Problem is when i use my xb1 tomorrow the xb1 dashboard nat will probably be moderate again while cod will remain open.

You mention port 3076 as a fallback port. Are you saying i could forward that to xb1 to keep nat open?

NAT strict all of a sudden for no reason.

    Yes I do.

I annoys me that microsoft chose to use the same xbox live ports for xbox one that it does for the 360.

It means i'm forced to use UPnP which can be flaky.

If they would have used another port instead of port 3074 it would have been possible to set up port forwarding for both 360 and xb1 which would have meant less posts on these forums about strict NATs.

    Xbox One Nat Issues

Port forwarding one and putting the other in the DMZ won't solve the problem, which is that both the 360 and One use the same port (3074). You can only forward a specific port (3074 in this case) to one internal IP. DMZ is just another way of forwarding
ports--essentially it just forwards to the specified IP ALL ports not otherwise already forwarded via manual setting, UPnP, etc. (DMZ should be used only as a last resort for that reason). Thus, when you manually forward a port to one IP, that port will
not (cannot) be DMZ forwarded to another IP. If you can't get UPnP to work, then you could try something I wouldn't normally recommend, which is to manually setup the required port forwards to a specific LAN IP then manually assign that same LAN IP to both
your 360 and One. This is not normally a good idea; but as long as you avoid having the 360 and One powered on at the same time, it should work.
