    Port 55816 in network advanced settings


    My Xbox one decided to take a plummet in download speeds recently seeming to flip with my PS4 going from ~60-65mbps to ~30mbps in one night. I am not sure what is going on. The only thing I noticed was that in network advanced setting it shows port 55816,
    which I believe to be different than what it was prior. I think I started with a 3. I recently purchased a new router, didn't like it, so I returned it and hooked my old one back up. That is when I started noticing the issues, although they were not present
    previously with my original router. If anyone has any information about this port 55816, or knows of any issues that might cause this sudden decrease in download speeds (on my end or otherwise) I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you in advance!

    False alarm. I forwarded the port under Network settings -> Advanced settings and it seems to be okay now.

    Go to Network settings click advanced then go into alternate port selection and manually choose a new port. It usually works.

    The default port used for this is 3074. With two of them on the same network, you may want to try setting one to use an alternate port in the network settings.

    If that doesn't work, you can try this:

    There's a workaround for this problem that may work. Go to Settings > Network > Advanced network settings > Alternate port selection > change it to manual and to anything it was not > go back to auto port selection. That sometimes forces this problem to
    get fixed.

    Hello again,

    A simple way of getting an open NAT type while on Hotspot? Well there is a feature in the Network Advanced settings called "Alternate Port selection". I have never attempted to use it with a hotspot, but it should work in theory.

    Just connect to the network and go into "Advanced settings" in your network settings. Select alternate port selection and then select manual. After that select a port number to test out.

    This is all trial and error. You select a port and then test your NAT type afterwards. If it remains strict or moderate, you go and select a difcferent port.

    Have you tried going into your advanced settings in Networking setup and setting the port to something other than 3074?
