    Poor/Grainy Resolution when using PC monitor


    Hi,

    I just got an xbox one and hooked it up to my computer monitor. My monitor doesn't have an HDMI port so I had to get a DVI to HDMI adapter. When I power on the console everything appears on my screen as it should except everything is grainy/poor resolution.
    If I go to settings < display & sound the only available TV resolution is 640 x 480. I'm positive my monitor has higher resolution than that (Samsung Sync Master T220). I used to play xbox 360 on the same monitor with no issues.

    Is it possible the issue is caused by the DVI to HDMI adapter? Or is there something I'm overlooking when it comes to adjusting the xbox one settings? I tried to change the settings on the monitor itself but didn't have any luck.

    The monitors that I have are benq g2222hdl. I have two of these and use my though one of tben through the same hdmi to dvi cable.

    In settings / audio and video your should disable the "auto" setting on " TV connection" and configure it manually as the adapter will not give proper information on the possible solutions. You may try hdmi or dvi there and then choose the proper resolution
    for your monitor which should be 1080p.

    Judging by your description, I would assume that either your monitor simply doesn't support HDMI to DVI conversion, or there is something wrong with the cable. Does your monitor only support DVI?

    Perhaps you could provide us with the exact make and model of this monitor?
