    Poor Customer Support


    So recently my Xbox One started to malfunction, literally a month after my warranty ran out. Now as this is Australia and we have strong consumer protection under the Australian Consumer Law, I contacted Microsoft Support and told them I wanted them
    to repair the console at their expense. If you don't know, this is because the Consumer Law says that a product must last a reasonable amount of time without fault, and that if it does not last a reasonable amount of time, then the manufacturer needs to repair
    or replace at their expense. Now when I contacted an Xbox Support person via the online chat method, they had absolutely no idea what I was on about. Eventually they told me that they would pass the case up the ladder and I should get an email. After telling
    them my preferred email was my gmail account, they emailed my old hotmail account. Instead of addressing my complaint directly, they have just sent emails asking for details such as Serial number, Device number, etc. Now this has been going on for 2 and a
    half weeks without anything progressing. The last email I received from them asked me if I had changed my region or something. This is just stupid. All I want is for them to tell me that they either wil fix/replace for free or they won't. Instead I just get
    back and forth emails asking for useless information. Also, their English is absolutely terrible. Here's an example in an email from them, 'Did you do schnages on your account (ie. Account regiond chnage) after you have contacted us about this issue?
    Thanks!'. All those spelling mistakes are theirs, not mine. I feel like I am just being mucked around in the hope that I will just give up. What should I do?

    So they was more than willing to take care of the problem at no charge to you. But due to the fact they didn't give you freebies your boycotting the console? Wow.

    I have purchased a Xbox one in the beginning of December and right out of the box it did not work. I turned it on and the screen was stuck on the logo screen. I called xbox support and they told me to go out and buy a thumb drive and download a update
    off my PC and boot off of that on my xbox one. So that is what I did. It did not work. I called them up again and they said to send it in. They said it would have a quick turn around. I have called since and now they said sometime in January. I asked if I
    would be awarded anything for my Huge inconvenience. They said NO. They said I did not have the correct problem to get a reward aka free game. I needed to have a disc drive problem to get a free game. I didn't get a chance to put a game in if anything I have
    a worse problem. Very disappointed in MS. Will not be playing xbox one this year at all. Expensive hardware that doesn't work out of the box. It took me 3 xbox 360 to finally get one that worked I wonder how many xbox ones?

    Just do the dance mate and answer any questions they have, console repairs have never been a quick process to start with and it looks like the customer service side of things has gotten even worse since the last time I dealt with them but as long as you
    keep giving them all the information they ask for eventually they will have to act one way or the other, you wont get a quick yes or no answer from the.

    Also if you dont answer their questions they have every right to say they are waiting for your reply to them which will delay it even further.

    Man I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with support. I've had nothing but pleasant experience when dealing with problems in the past. Hopefully they will throw you a bone in some way for your troubles. I would always get free months of live
    when I had to send my 360 in. Here's hoping things get fixed quickly for you.

    Hey there Elk! I'm sincerely sorry to hear that! Let's see what we can do to get everything taken care of.

    In this situation, I suggest getting in touch with phone support by using the
    Contact Us page. That will help you get in touch with phone support and will even let you skip waiting on hold since it will have them call you rather than you having to call them. Once you explain the situation
    to them, they will be best equipped to assist going forward.

    Hi Cerb!

    thank you for your reply but the suggestion you gave me unfortunately does not help, because apparently there isn't any phone contact! on the Contact Us page I can only choose a method between these 3: chat or forum or tweet, there is not any phone option
    at all!

    However, in the end i take the decision to buy a second hand Xbox 4Gb on a local store, spending another 109 euros, but I thought this was the only way to save the money I've already spent at least.

    If even this second console will fail in the next close future, i really hope to get the possibility to speak with someone by phone by then if not, I will end with any play activity with xbox because it will be far too expensive and so I will go back to
    the Sony PS because it never let me down in many years.
