    Poor Connection and Download Speeds Suddenly


    What Country/State/Province do you live in? The UK.

    Router brand & model number: Technicolour TG582n 4 Port Wireless Router.

    If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter? Internal adapter

    Things you have tried: Wired connection, disconnecting all wireless headsets, setting up port forwarding, assigning DMZ from router etc.

    Is UPnP Enabled? Yes.

    Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT
    type? No NAT error.

    Any Error Codes you encounter: None.

    Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? PlusNet

    After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" press “Y” for "More Info”. In the pop-up that appears, what are the following values, if shown? (If a value below does not appear for you, just leave it blank.)

    W: 0000-0021

    X: 0000 - F001

    Y: 20A8 4840

    Z: 0000 - 0000

    ID: FFFF - FFFF

    L: 0015 - 10F0

    Q: 8015 - 1004

    T: Wireless

    D: 192.1681.254, 0.0.0.0

    S: WPA2

    C: 6

    Any suggestions, the problem has only been occurring for the last few weeks. I've tried every step of the Xbox Support page with no luck.

    What is your download and upload speed?
    http://www.speedtest.net/
    If your connection is too poor or if their connection is too poor you wont be able to connect.

    poor connection speed

    I am connected to xbox live through my AT&T DSL service. Although I have the highest speed available through AT&T I still have very slow speed / response. Someone told me that I need to readdress the main firewall settings, but I cannot seem to find them
    on here. What should t he settings be? Also, what can I do?

    No, the connection is purely an issue on my Xbox. Every other device is running fine.

    ---

    Troubleshooting steps:

    • Tested internet connection to see if it meets the minimum requirements (it does).
    • Tried with a wired connection (ethernet), same lag was the result.
    • Disconnected all third party headsets (wireless and wired).
    • Multiple restarts of network hardware.
    • Changed wireless channel.
    • Checked for weak wireless signal on Network Connection Test. Came back as 4 bars.
    • Set up DMZ and checked firewall settings.
    • Cleared X360 cache and reset console.
    • I've also set up port forwarding despite no needing it prior to the issue.
    As before, the poor connection issue has only been evident in the last few weeks, and I'm at a loss to rectify it.

    I was working on not bumping this at all, but there hasn't been a response in a month and the issue is ongoing. There isn't a problem with any other devices in my house, just the xbox. The troubleshooting steps I've completed are above. Does anyone have
    any advice for rectifying the issue?

    Sorry for the interruption!

    When you say, "poor connection", is this exclusively related to latency, or do you experience intermittent disconnections as well?

    If you haven't already, reset the TG582n to factory settings.

    If you use PPPoE/A for connectivity, make sure you take note of the username and password, for the authentication process.

    Normally when you do a hardware reset, there should be a reset button, often located on the back, or on the side, of a modem/router. Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds. Power off your gateway for 2 minutes. Power on and wait one minute for it
    to connect properly.

    Although UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) is enabled by default, for the majority of routers, make sure this feature is ticked enable.

    On your console, delete a portion of the system update, installed on your console, and reinstall the update. To do so:

    Go to System Settings and select storage.

    On your controller, press the following button sequence:

    Press the left bumper.

    Press the right bumper.

    Press the X button.

    Press the left bumper.

    Press the right bumper.

    Press the X button.

    Post back and let us know how that goes.

    Yes, I do experience disconnections (both from game and Xbox live) as well as extreme latency issues.
