I've pre-ordered a 4 Shot from Polk. Figure I'll have a dedicated headset and an adapter in one package.

Personally i'm looking at the Ear Force Atlas. Has 5.1 sound, and works with 360, PC, has the XB1 adapter.. and since it has the USB interface for PC it's possible (rumor still) that it could work for PS4. As mentioned already, the Polk 4 shot is stereo
sound only.. and really any headset that has a 2.5 mm headphone jack can be used on XB1 as soon as the standalone adapters are out.

The Polk Audio Melee looks to be the best bet for those who want a 360 and X1 setup. When you get your melee headset, if you register them with Polk they will send you the X1 adapter when they release them. It also processes dolby digital and it's not

Personally I would go with the 4 Shot. I've never felt the need to buy a gaming specific headset before but I'm seriously considering getting a pair of the 4 Shots. My entire surround sound system is made up of Polk speakers and they sound amazing. Polk
is known for producing high quality audio components at a reasonable price.

U Go, ICESTORM is right, since the headset is also designed to be used with mobile devices you'll be able to plug it right into a DS4 since it doesn't have a proprietary input like the X1 controller.
