    Hello!,

    My account was recently transitioned to a currency based account and my points carried over. I have several points cards that I want to redeem, I am seeing that points codes redeemed will expire in a year is this true ?, will they not just convert to currency
    ?

    Lost some microsoft points

    Most of the time points acquired through a promotion will have an expiry period on them. Only MS points that you have purchase will have no expiry period.

    Microsoft Essentially Stealing My Money

    Not the ones you buy,there's no expiry date on those but currency earnt through promo's can expire.

    Also,any points you had that were converted to currency when the change happened have an expiry date as well.

    Currency FAQ    : "Microsoft Points cards and codes that you have purchased and choose to redeem after your account has transitioned will expire one year from the date the Microsoft Points are redeemed."

    Sorry to hear it. When MS Points were transferred to Currency there was an expiry date for them. The currency had to have been spent by this past July otherwise they would expire and could no longer be used.

    Currency added after the change have no expiry date so can be used when you choose to.
