You should demand a refund. 330 points worth! I remember when you could buy a pack of cigarettes for 330 points. Just messing with you. Avatar items could possibly add up to 330 points. Maybe buy your avatar a pack of cigarettes.

 

Using Xbox One Points for Avatar Clothes

Microsoft, quit trying to make money off avatar clothes that we rarely can use. Go back to the old points system to where Avatar Items costed a certain amount of points instead of actual money. You Make us pay $350-$450 Dollars on a New Gen console, &50-$60
Per game, then make us pay for Avatar clothes with real money? Might as well take away the points system. I'm disappointed.

 

Just give us a display Avatar option. On = Dashboard Avatar like 360...... Off = Avatar stays in the app.

 

Xbox One killed Avatars unfortunately. I think their only use will be a gamer pic.

It was already pointless and useless on Xbox 360.....

 

Avatars were beginning to be phased out long before the ONE was launched. The December 2012 360 Dashboard Update, which I believe was when YouTube was first introduced on LIVE, saw the Avatars reduced in size to the point where you could no longer even
read what was on the Hats/T-Shirts that you'd paid for (or, received as pre-order bonuses), not to mention the Dashboard Themes as well. The reason? Screen Space was now at a Premium (literally) and they're not gonna make the Avatars the once integral part
of the Dash without closing the floodgates of Advertising Revenues that have poured in since...

 

I loved the uniqueness that avatars provided by seeing them in certain games. For example, in Mortal Kombat, you could see your avatar cheer on or boo out the fighters in lobby mode while on Sony's console, you only had the standard MK characters. That helped
make the game feel more personal. Another good example was Snoopy Flying Ace, where you could play your avatar, along with Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang and attempt to take out the Red Baron. Ah good times... You can't get that anymore sadly.

I think they should implement them more, IMO (along with the motto and bio). It helps give you a sense of personal identity from everyone else and people can kind of get a feel for the kind of person you are by looking at it. I like the idea of it showing
up on the home screen, even if it is for a brief moment or only in 1 section (likely the friends section or profile screen).

At a minimum, while they do still support avatars, they should at least give us access to the avatar store and options that were on the Xbox 360.

 

An avatar is a 3D representation of the likeness of what you look like real life. They included it on Xbox 1 because it's an Xbox Live Feature and Xbox 1 is an "Xbox" console. The reason why it looks kind of app-y is because Xbox 1 has different hardware
and software compared to Xbox 360.

 

I don't think it would be as hard to implement because of what you say, SSB.

Also, it's NOT "a 3D representation of the likeness of what you look like in real life" - it's a 3D representation of what you WANT to look like on Xbox Live. For example, I'm a guy, but if I so chose, I can make my avatar represent the opposite gender,
a stormtrooper, a clown, or even a giant teddy bear (and more). Do you see where I'm going with this?

 

Don't they use your avatars in Kinect games?

 

I think at some point we might be able to use our own pics. Look at 8:50 of this Xbox One reveal video. It show a gamer pic of the guy on stage.

 

Not always and not exclusively for Kinect games and not at all on the XB1.

 

Fyerball, they also had a trending tab and I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.
