pls help my friends account won’t work

so my friend is trying to buy minecraft bedrock edition on windows so we can play together and he put his birthday in wrong and made it say hes 17 so he needs a “parents email” to have a code sent to but whenever we try and enter the code sent to the email it says something went wrong and that the account is timed out for too many tries and that we need to wait to try again and we’ve waited over 24 hours and it still says the same thing how can we fix it help please and thank you

helppls619520, his account is part of a family account? If it does, the only possible way for him to change his age, is the manager of that account remove him from the family so he could change his account's age.

Or, if his account is not part of a family, ask him to do this:

Try changing it this way.

Go to the top right corner, click on your avatar

click on my microsoft account

Click on "Your Information" on the top tab

go on the date of birth

Change to a date that matches age 18+.

Once this is done, log out your microsoft account from all open browser sites,

wait 20 minutes for the updates to take effect on the server, then click the link below.

Look for the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab

And change the settings "You can play with people outside of Xbox Live", "You can create and join clubs", and "You can join multiplayer games" to Allow.

Once all that is done, wait another 20 minutes to update the changed settings and that's it.
