    Plex app connection problem

    Hi,

    I have a problem with the new Plex app.

    Plex server is running on LAN in the same subnet than the xbox360.

    I registered the Plex app with PIN in plex.tv website so everything should be good but when starting the Plex app again is says that the server cannot be contacted although the server appears online in the plex.tv website.

    Plex DLNA service can be reached from xbox

    On the other hand I can connect with other devices in my network to the plex server. So it seems really a problem with the xbox360 Plex app.

    Anyone has the same problem ? Any ideas to fix ?

    I do have Plex server running on my local network but my xbox360 media player not finding the Plex contents.

    what app you using to see plex contents on your xbox??

    I'm running both hd homerun and plex after giving up on oneguide.

    After running with plex for a period (using hd homerun tuners for tv reception) i ended giving up plex too, for tv recording. Plex still requires external guide data (i used freepg) but the guide on plex on xbox is pretty ****. If you are using plex on a
    pc, the guide on plex is fine.

    I ended up buying an annual hd homerun dvr subscription ($35) and am happy with that. The hd homerun app on xbox is simple but effective. Guide data is fine and tv dvr is simple but works reliably.

    Plex is now just used for movies and tv series.

    So for me the $35 annual hd homerun dvr subscription is worth the no hassles (but basic) tv recording.

    Plex has the feature to lock out age related material to users (blog.plex.tv/.../introducing-plex-home) and the app is available on the 360 and Xbox One.

    Might be worth checking Plex out as an option if emby isn't available.

    What are you using HDMI in for?

    Supposedly a Plex app for xbox one is in beta testing. I don't use Plex because of file restrictions.
