Please tell me it's my internet that causes me to wait hours for a game to install....

Because I'm at 8% for Thief. It's been an hour and 15 minutes So if I have to keep my xbox one on for 2 days to get to 100% I'd like to know if it's my internet.

Or if I can SKIP installing all together. It didn't do this with AC4...

Game Taking Hours To Install

I decided to buy an Xbox One because there was 1 game that I wanted to play on the next gen console: NBA2K14. I read online that it takes about 45 minutes for the game to fully install before I'm able to have access all the modes. I don't know if maybe
my system is faulty or not, but I've been installing the game for over 5 hours and now it's at 95%. I've read online about disconnecting my Internet and letting it install, but when I do that my system stops installing. Can someone please explain to me why
it's taking me 6 hours to install a game to my HDD? Maybe I'm doing something wrong???

 

I cant got to the friends list or anything without it being very slow

Whenever I press the home button i have to wait a minute or two for it to load, then after that i have to wait every tab to load. My dashboard also takes awhile. My games and internet work fine.. ive done a hard reset and all.

Please tell me what to do.

 

yay! I've gotten to 11% since I posted this!

 

When installing games on the Xbox One, patches are usually downloaded first, which cause the install to stay at 0% for awhile. Potentially, this is what you saw.

 

It's almost been 2 hours and I'm only at 16%.

The patches take days then?

 

Because I'd really like to play this game before my three days off work are over. And so far, it doesn't seem like I'm going to have it...

Most of the time if I post something, complain....it'll get better on it's own it seems....

 

Just a clarification, the install will stay at 0% until patches are installed. I'm glad that it's working faster now though!

 

That was a problem though.

The install didn't stay at 0%.

It actually got up to 17% (and it took about an hour and 49 minutes for that) before it speed up because I went and uninstalled and disconnected the internet.

Now I'm installing the update and it's taking a while, but it's going faster then before...so it's probably just update AND install together that made it so I'd have to wait 2-3 days with the system on 24 hours for a game to install...

 

and...the update froze my xbox one....*sigh*

i bought thief today installed it, wont even load the game, some update huh, just keeps crashing to dashboard, i did all the resets re-installs still not working. i wanna play this game sooooo bad
