I think it's great that you're caring and looking after your son with future thoughts on the best outcome with the xb1. I'd stick with the day one as the library will grow pretty quick with Games with Gold, there's always the 2nd hand market with plenty
to buy. All the best for you and your son.

Now the games offered are the same for everyone every month right? I couldnt request a "T" rating limit?All other things equal I'd sell this thing for just $300 just so I can Gamestop a $219 one and get the extra controller.

Hey, speaking of that, does anyone here have one extra controller? They are so hard to find and so expensive here. I could trade or make a delayed payment (via paypal so you know you have recourse). I have an HP Pavilion dv6-1230us to get rid of as well
as some AMAZING audiophile surround sound speakers. Specifically 2 Wharfesale WH-2 Surround (front speakers) and one Klipsch SC.5 (Center Channel with 2 mids and a tweet.

Or if you're in to pokemon cards my kids have tons, lol. Just a thought. It would have to be quick though to keep fighting over the single one down. Also games, kid friendly ones. We can talk if you have some.

%50 of day one consoles blew up on opening, so the remaining ones should be ok.

I'd just keep it. You will need to redownload everything and set it all up. It's more of an annoyance than anything. It doesn't take too long though.

I'd recommend looking at places like eBay for a gold membership for a good price. Every month your son will have 4 extra games at no extra cost as long as you keep being a gold member. The 1st and 16th of each month is when new games become available for
you to download.

When you get all set up go to the marketplace and check out the free game section. Lots of decent freebies there.

I'd also look into getting an external hard drive. You can get them cheap. I got a 1tb for €50.

What age is your son? Maybe we can recommend some games.

You have to take most anything Electro says with a grain of salt, he's the local conspiracy theorist who's convinced MS (and the rest of the world) is after him.

There were no widespread issues with day one consoles. After a few years, the failure rate has been in line with typical electronics, as should be expected. The only "host of problems" after launch were the typical setup issues and of course a few consoles
with legit issues, which again, was in line with what should have been expected with a product launch.

Good luck selling the console on eBay, but if it doesn't sell, don't be too worried about Electro's attempt to scare you.

What makes you think they're selling for $1750+? If you can find someone dumb enough to pay even half that I'd take the money and run. You can find them on eBay unopened for $400 or less. Or looks like Amazon has them for $370.
